North Carolina decision soon?

I read comments from the recruit that just committed a day or two ago saying the they assured him the penalities would be light. They said since the misconduct was not specific to the basketball program and because we're a cash-cow, don't worry about it.

You are referring to Nassir Little who was offered $150K to play for Arizona. I wouldn't say he is too concerned with rule breaking which is why his choice to play for UNC is absolutely hilarious to me because it is such an absolute joke. I hope they slap him with a big 'ol ineligible sticker.

Brian Snow posted something about this that fans of UNC will think it is too harsh and everyone else will feel it is too soft.

End of day no one will be happy but hopefully with the recent FBI incident it makes the NCAA step up and do their job.

The hilarious part was that he was quoted as saying he committed there because their academics were great

Will the NCAA now wait for input from their newly-formed commission before deciding on punishment for UNC. Cowards.
No, that new commission will come and go, the members will become grandparents and great-grandparents, move into nursing homes, pass away one by one and when they're all resting in peace, the NCAA will not yet have any meaningful punishment for UNC.

Tomorrow (Friday) according to this. Expect some hand slapping and nothing more.

How awesome would it be if they absolutely slam UNC the same day as Late Night with Roy which also happens to be Friday the 13th?

Since UNC can argue that they made it possible for educationally challenged "student athletes" to have success academically I have inside info that the NCAA is going to award them an extra 4 schollies a year.

Would be funny if the FBI comes out and is like, "Hey NCAA, what about all of these recordings we have? What have you been investigating for years?"

Here's an example of a final paper, the only assignment due for the class. No attendance, nothing. The student got an A-. Grammar alone should put it a bit lower... my opinion only. Don't worry, even though it is a final paper, you can probably skim it. It's one paragraph.

On the evening of December Rosa Parks decided that she was going to sit in the white people section on the bus in Montgomery, Alabama. During this time blacks had to give up there seats to whites when more whites got on the bus. Rosa parks refused to give up her seat. Her and the bus driver began to talk and the conversation went like this. "Let me have those front seats" said the driver. She didn't get up and told the driver that she was tired of giving her seat to white people. "I'm going to have you arrested," said the driver. "You may do that," Rosa Parks responded. Two white policemen came in and Rosa Parks asked them "why do you all push us around?" The police officer replied and said "I don't know, but the law is the law and you're under arrest.

What a joke. No wonder the FBI is involved with recruiting. I can't believe they had the balls to come out and dismiss the case in the middle of all this. I think it shows how tone deaf and incompetent the NCAA is as an organization.

Just make sure some of the general student body benefit from the cheating and you are ok with the NCAA.

Yeah. I like how the best defense UNC had was that they offer fraud classes to their entire student body, not just the athletes. What a university! Proud day for UNC alums!!!

All I can say is to use extreme caution hiring anyone with a degree from North Carolina. You would need to carefully vet their transcript. Basically a degree from UNC is quickly becoming a joke, right below some of these mail order colleges in standing.

This is so sad. I bet even if these athletes wanted to take real courses they were not allowed to.

What percentage of division 1 basketball players end up making a living playing basketball even for a short time? Less than 10%? How many make enough money they will never need a real job they could have gotten with a real degree? Less than 1%?

There should be outrage from the UNC alums and faculty, and everyone else, that this disservice (exploitation?) to these "students" is occurring.
