Did Potter make a terrible mistake? Yes. The behavior of the deceased was just as important. Behave and none of this happens. Instead, at least 2 lives destroyed.

Doctors and police officers are 2 professions that cannot afford members to make mistakes. Yes, Potter did make a mistake and the jury got it right. She is a 20 plus year veteran. She should no better. She should have known very well the difference between a firearm and a taser. She could have just as easily shot a fellow police officer.

Poor police tactics led to this tragic incident even by Potter the 20 plus year veteran. First of all, the officer trainee was searching Wright very close to the door of the car. Wright should have been searched towards the rear. Secondly, when Wright was becoming agitated and resisting, the trainee was fumbling around with the hand cuffs so bad that he could not place then on Wright. Then because of the poor location of where he was searched, Wright was able to jump back in the car. Potter or another veteran cop should have instructed the trainee to the proper location to do the search.

Would you even bother to post about this had he been white? The biggest mistake was by the guy resisting arrest.

This case baffles me more than most. I don’t think I can recall a case like it. Officer shoots suspect trying to flee and gets charged and convicted? It’s unheard of. The mistake she made is yelling taser. She should have just shot his ass. Perfectly legal. She will get off. This was a set up.

Hiw is this a setup? She will get off? Too late. She has been convicted on at least 2 counts of 1st and 2nd degree manslaughter.

Just shooting him is not perfectly legal. State laws says that police can use deadly force only when their lives or others are in danger. Potter and the other officers lives were not in danger. You can't just shoot a fleeing UNARMED suspect. Thinking it was a taser, Potter could have injured the fellow officers or the passenger who did nothing.

It is a good thing the cops have body cameras nowadays. No telling what lies the cops would have come up with in the official report if there were no cameras. They used to do it all the time. Like in Chicago, the cops lied on the report in the Laquan McDonald killing. They obviously did not know a video was around when they lied and tried to cover up that shooting. That's the shooting where the cop empties his clip, shooting Laquan 16 times as he was walking away from the police with a knife.

Whatever happened to the Negro Somalian cop in Minneapolis that shot and killed the caucasion Austraian woman ? I lost track but am sure you have the details? Was she even trying to resist arrest at the time?

The Negro Somalian cop, as you put it, was tried and convicted and is serving his sentence. If I was his partner at the time, I probably would have beat the crap out of him on the spot. If I remember the story right, his partner was the driver of the squad car. the Negro Somalian cop was the passenger. The lady comes running to the car on the passenger side. The Negro Somalian cop reaches across the face of the driver cop and shoots the lady. This fool could have shot the other cop in the process. Anyhow, the lady wasn't resisting. She wasn't being arrested at all. If I'm not mistaken the lady is the one that called the police. Then came out running towards the police when they arrived. I think it was a domestic incident.

These long posts and still can’t find time to find quotes/clips proving that all of those FOX NEWS hosts are RACISTS??? Too funny

Daunte Wright's behavior led to this tragedy. Yes, Potter made mistakes and has paid a huge price. In the future, look for a shortage of cops and the accompanying rise in crime. It has already started. Being a cop is just too hazardous to one's safety and freedom.

And the Democrat party isn’t helping the matter with saying what they’ve said about law enforcement!!

Human beings having to spend 2000 hours a year around thugs like Michael Brown and Jacob Blake, and never making a single mistake. LOL.

What kinds of drugs have you done ?

Not sure what point you are trying to make. But the actions of Potter and the Negro Somalian cop could have gotten other cops killed.

Good cops would have cuffed him when he was outside his car and then put inside the squad car.

Do you agree with the verdict of 1st and 2nd degree manslaughter?

Um, that's kind of old news, y'know. And anyway why would anyone keep trying to prove it on the individuals, when the entire network pulses with racist tropes every single day?

Why couldn't Wright have just been a productive member of society instead of a gang banging thug our robbing people at gunpoint?
Another case of had somebody just followed simple instructions and complied with the officers orders, they'd be alive today.
I think this needs to be taught in schools in the hood.

Hopefully they appeal and get a new trial. But of course, you have the Minny DA, Ellison, one of the biggest cop hating lefty lib dems in the business running the show in woke Minneapolis.

Just curious on why you support criminals instead of law enforcement regardless of race?

I don't support criminals. I just hate bad and/or racist cops. Police brutality in the black community goes back decades to Jim Crow, throughout the 70's and today. Blacks have been beaten, killed in police custody, coerced confessions etc. Because of history, black people are sensitive to the way police conduct themselves. I bet you you have not heard of any white person that have been in prison due to coerced confessions? There have been many black people that have been released from prisons due to their sentences overturned. These folks were eventually found innocent.

That's what I've been talking about.

No. There was no criminal intent on the part of the police officer.
There is no need for criminal intent. Haven't you heard of manslaughter? Potter did not intend to kill Wright but her reckless actions like mistaking her gun for a taser is criminal according to the law. And it should be.

You don't think that she doesn't need to be held accountable for her reckless actions? I'm sure if you had a son that was unarmed and entangled with the police and some cop thinking that they had their taser but shoots him a gun should be criminally charged?

Maybe because statistically they commit a much higher percentage of crime?

I agree that many blacks have been incarcerated wrongly for years only to be proven innocent. I don’t see that happening going forward. What I do see is blacks still believing what happened years ago will continue to happen. Until that belief changes, racism will never go away. So if we as a society continue to teach that history and reinforce those beliefs the country will never heal and skin color will always be a division. I know you don’t see it that way. That’s why I’m probably right.

As long as there is racism it will always happen. It may happen as frequently in the past. Because of the past, blacks don't trust the legal system. You sound like one those people that want to sweep past transgressions under the rug and hope it never happened. Afraid that your kids will have nightmares at night if they learn it. Some of these folks are trying to remove books about Rosa Parks and MLK from schools. Give me a break.

Why couldn't Adam and Eve just do what they were told and obey the rules? None of this would even be happening.

Believe me my kids and I are ok with it. I don’t believe many in the black community are moving ahead on this. They still harbor many things that never happened to them occurring decades ago.

The police ain't moving ahead as they are still doing the same things. It is obvious that you don't realize how bad iemt was for blacks and police brutality even as recent as the 80's and nineties. Why do you want to sweep under the rug what happened to the Central Park 5 in NYC. A white woman was raped in Central Park. They arrested 5 teenagers and coerced confessions out of them and they were convicted. DNA evidence later exonerated all of them. Just a few years ago Chicago police tried to cover up the police shooting of Laquan McDonald. So this crap ain't going away.

McDonald was a car thief. He was a criminal. I’m not very sympathetic towards people like him

While the shooting of McDonald was wrong, Chicago has a much, much bigger problem. People of color shooting other people of color.

So I guess you are ok with him getting shot by the police 16 times? The cop was reloading another clip before he was stopped. Then several Chicago police officers were fired when they lied on the police report to cover it up. Then Mayor Emanuel and the Chicago police say on the video for a year. You ok with all that?

I was waiting for the violence deflection. Police lying on police reports and covering police crimes is a big deal.

I acknowledged the wrongdoing. That said, if you want to know what is really killing people of color in Chicago, you know where to look.

Victimhood at it’s finest. If the black community didn’t cause 53% of violent crimes despite being only 13% of the population, there’d be a lot fewer interactions with law enforcement.
