Offense has looked good, but non-existing pass rush and porous defense will continue to be Purdue's downfall. Hopefully before the season is over the defensive coaches will at least learn that there is something called a blitz!

Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting. We're playing to our talent level on defense.

I don't think you understand what you're watching.

D is playing as well as we can. Just got off the field with a great stop but handed them the ball on the 20 twice.

Not really the DD fault when they have a short field to defend every time.

There seems to be no talent there, but one would think that at least one of the defensive coaches has heard of the blitz. Laying back and waiting for completion after completion is totally crazy!

We've gotten stops.

The 2 turnovers are the 14 point difference in the game.

It's Penn State...even OSU didn't get to the QB much last week.

I'm not really sure you understand what you're watching.

D is about as porous as it gets. You could line up 11 midgets against them and those midgets would probably get 300 yards rushing.

Who's fault is it when they are constantly out of position, miss tackles and just flat out can't sack anyone?

The offense came to play but when the defense is so terrible, there is only so much the offense can do.

The entire team is incredibly weak. The strength coach should have been shown the door with Hazell. This has been an issue for a while.
Thank you! This has been an issue since day one. Defenders get dragged for 5 yds or just knocked flat on their back. OL gets zero push. Receivers never go up and rip a ball from a defender. We have no depth so damn sure well better be fit.

Injuries on D have been the real killer. I think Panfil and Bailey are the only guys in the starting 11 who haven't missed at least a game.

Yeah, we still aren't good but if we aren't so banged up this game would have been closer.

it was like watching a team coming of severe sanctions vs one that didn't

We have no depth. That is a killer in these games against quality opponents, especially on D. Priority one for the new coach is to recruit like the fate of the world depends on it.

I believe I understand what I was watching! The Penn State quarterback had enough time to send text messages and still throw a pass and no a Purdue defender was within 5 yards of him! Also if it's apparent the opposition is going to run, at least put the line backers closer to the line! There was room for a 2 lane road between them and the defensive linemen! l

You do realize that all 3 top rotation DTs were out right? What were you expecting?

i don't see why Purdue doesn't let the guys heal up and play someone else. I realize the coaches want to win, but they aren't and letting guys play hurt isn't helping. Haven't looked at the rooster that close, but gotta be someone to step in. Appreciate the effort the players are giving and playing hurt, but for what.

I said it the day Parker was named interim, and I'll say it again.. Rest every damn starter who is dinged up and start game planning for IU. That game is the only thing left to play for. Easier said than done, I suppose..

Combination of recruiting gaps/zero depth/mediocre talent. We filled in players that were injured on Saturday with players who were still nursing other injuries.

Also offense hardly did its job in the second half. Purdue isn't winning a single game if it can't put 40+ points on the board.
