Now Purdue will not play this season. This covid sucks. I know football is recreation but it's a fun distraction for me. People can't do some of the normal things and now sports are continuing to be taken away. 2020 has totally sucked.

What do you mean?Has been a miserable morning between this news and the downtown of my city looking like a scene from Batman right now.
Multiple sources saying it. Officially announced tomorrowHas that been announced?
What do you mean?
You know it will be a point of recruiting. "Do you want to play football, or sit around until somebody sez you can play football?"Wonder how many kids transfer if SEC and ACC play?
Karlaftis
Bell
King
just curious
Although SEC is having a meeting this afternoon. You know it will be a point of recruiting. "Do you want to play football, or sit around until somebody sez you can play football?"
After november this will be all over one way or another. We as a nation have been sold a bill of goods. COVID is highly contagious and is deadly in a very small percentage of healthy people and no real risk to those under 15. The elderly and the compromised should use precautions. The rest of the world should go back to work and school. I have been in health care for over 30 years and this is 20% science and 80% BS and politics. Unfortunately, many have bought in to the fear.

1. Calm down. Now Purdue will not play this season. This covid sucks. I know football is recreation but it's a fun distraction for me. People can't do some of the normal things and now sports are continuing to be taken away. 2020 has totally sucked.
Peacefully, tho right ?I live in Chicago and it was ransacked last night.
Trump tweeted out earlier today in favor of playing college football, so your 4th point would be incorrect.Couple thoughts
1.) Please Nebraska leave. GTFO you offer Big 10 nothing
2.) Intrigued at the thought of fall and spring football
3.) OSU President and AD don’t seem to be on same page as Ryan Day
4.) Seems like our Republican President doesn’t believe we should play
5.) One athlete gets it and it’s fatal, that school and conference will be shredded?
6.) Kids were throwing their weight around with demands last week, and I notice it was PAC 12 and Big 10 athletes that were the instigators. Any surprise those are the conferences that are leaning to cancel? Is this a push back by the athletic departments?

Never mind, assumed he meant trump. I was wrong.Mitch Daniels? Regardless, so much for the idea this isn't "political".
Mitch has been at the national forefront of seeking a degree of normalcy, taking informed risks, and moving forward by reopening our university. I would be very surprised if he is not also supportive of conducting a fall sports season, including football. At least starting and adjusting as necessary going forward.Mitch Daniels? Regardless, so much for the idea this isn't "political".
Not Trump.Trump tweeted out earlier today in favor of playing college football, so your 4th point would be incorrect.
You’re misunderstanding me. The athletes had all kinds of demand, wouldn’t sign a waiver, wanted paid, blah blah blah. Well Big Ten and PAC 12 called and said how bout no ball. If they play athletes are going to have to bear the consequences. The schools aren’t going to. Sign the damn waivers.???
What's your beef with Nebraska?
"Kids" (athletes) are weighing in? And there's a PROBLEM with that?? I have a strong suspicion, if they were lobbying to cancel everything you'd be on board and all for their input. Regardless, it seems to me we should be listening to them. Instead...
Not quite sure why you're bringing politics into this. I've been accused of doing that, but nobody has ever produced evidence of it. And yet... here we are.
Don’t blame Covid, blame all the idiots who have overreacted to Covid to make it out to be the plague. We could have very easily gone on “business as usual” and not shut anything down, not gone into a recession, and played college sports with 100% fan attendance. Now Purdue will not play this season. "Very easily gone on business as USUAL" The only idiots are the one's who think like you.Don’t blame Covid, blame all the idiots who have overreacted to Covid to make it out to be the plague. What's your beef with Nebraska? This may be in response to Frost’s comments of today that Nebraska will be playing somebody somewhere this fall with or without the B1G’s blessings. (paraphrased)
Hopefully some of the BT coaches can have some influence on this. This may be in response to Frost’s comments of today that Nebraska will be playing somebody somewhere this fall with or without the B1G’s blessings.
He has a point, it seems like you don’t like the way he made his point perhaps his tone. Let me ask you this, what do you do for a living? Perhaps it’s easier to have your opinion if you don’t have your own business, or a coffee shop, or a bar or a restaurant? Or especially a sports complex."Very easily gone on business as USUAL" The only idiots are the one's who think like you.
We shut the world down for something that is less harmful than the flu for 80% of the population. That’s moronic."Very easily gone on business as USUAL" The only idiots are the one's who think like you.
They may reverse course. Not sure they expected the backlash. They are practicing today!

The conference took a PR hit, if they change course can it be salvaged?
I don’t disagree. But what kind of fallout do you think that will be if one athlete dies of CovidI think the question a month ago should have been play or don't play. Not cancelling non-conference games. If Rutgers can travel to Purdue, so can Memphis. That part never made sense to me. Just seemed like a contrived cop-out.
I do think that the conference, and college football as a whole, is in a no-win situation. Same with schools in general. There's no answer that works for all involved.
Sign a waiver, no lawsuit clause. This should have been handled in D.C. already and hasn't.I think the question a month ago should have been play or don't play. Not cancelling non-conference games. It’s my understanding that was in the student athletes demands. That they NOT be forced to sign a waiver.Sign a waiver, no lawsuit clause. This should have been handled in D.C. already and hasn't.
No ambulance chasers now or down the road if you want to go to college and same goes for players.
