3 points.
1. I like NO numbers color. (Old Gold color)
2. 2 boilers on the field.
3. Attendance looks bad at the game.

#3 is interesting.
Are less people attending sporting games?

NFL is suffering for the same reason NASCAR started suffering in the mid to late 2000's and are now trying to attach themselves to a younger audience and change their system: They moved to far away from their core audience and alienated the large swaths of fans they did have that attended with horrible rules changes. NASCAR has altered their business plan by partnering with Monster Energy Drinks and trying to focus on garnering a younger audience through making the races more of a spectacle. For instance, at the Brickyard this year they had a huge concert that featured young artists along with a number of other things associated with Monster Energy Drinks (trick motorcycles and trucks, other ideas geared toward younger audiences).

Football is suffering from the those issues but mostly with the great coverage you can get from ESPN, Fox, etc and not have to leave your own home. Would I rather pay my regular cable/satellite bill which is probably $100 a month or pay over $100 a ticket to attend a single game?

NASCAR lost me a long time ago when they forgot that you race to win not that you race to give everyone a trophy. I turned it on this season once and now they're awarding points for leading portions of a race. The NFL has lost a lot of us with their desire to be a social intervention group instead of entertaining with sports. People that work all week to pay the bills and take care of their own situation don't want to be preached to obtain perceived social injustices by multi-millionaires playing a game. They just want to see two teams match up and do what they're paid to do and do it well. ESPN's decision to be a means of social change has also lead to their downfall. They were a SPORTS network and did it well for a long time. Now few ESPN shows exist to cover only sport. I have plenty of outlets for social intervention and much like the food on my plate I don't want them all mixed into one pile.

I actually liked the awarding points in two different stages because it makes guys race hard throughout the race. All to often it was guys sagging and sandbagging with the new rules and it made the racing incredibly boring. What NASCAR is doing is at least moving the needle some what in the right direction and made me a more informed and in-tune fan. The NFL's biggest problem is allowing Goodell to be the commissioner when he lacks vision and insight on how to evolve the game (like Adam Silver has done with the NBA)

#3 according to the box score, 73,000 paid with 72,000 capacity. So maybe the Thursday night, maybe the weather (I think they got snow), maybe the awful Atlanta traffic on a weeknight played a part.

I just saw data showing 25/32 teams are drawing 90% capacity for home games. One of those 7, the Rams, did not have data.

Blame the kneelers all they want, but the parity has made the product bad. 5 of 16 games this week are 2 teams with winning records.

As for the Atlanta - NO game, Drew forcing that ball at the end was frustrating.
