Ok, that's big. Purdue's still in a pretty good position with two top-10 wins and a very solid record against the top 2 quadrants. Have some work to do in Chicago, but I can't really complain. Purdue is just 4-4 down the stretch.
Why is that a concern? The AP Poll doesn't mean anything for the committee.
99% of voters are just looking at the score and have no idea how the game went
Had the score stayed at +20, they would have seen that then.
I know you're exaggerating, but I don't think it's anywhere close to that number. It was a national TV game, on a Sunday with very little else happening. College basketball writers watch college basketball, believe it or not.
If I were to rank them:
Kansas 95%
Alabama 90%
Houston 85%
Purdue 65%
UCLA 65%
I would take a 2 seed in Louisville over a 1 seed out east any day. Also would kick IU out of Louisville.
I do think there's value to that theory, especially with the assumption UConn is either the 3 or 4 in NYC.
Looking at UCLAs resume after a prompt from someone in another thread, I think we have a slightly better chance than UCLA currently. Their resume is just not as good as ours despite fewer losses.
Looks like we are up to #3 in coaches poll!
