We might see Sparty again for a trip to Final 4.

Little Rock, Iowa St and Virginia is as good a draw as you can get.

As good of a draw that you could have expected if you are Purdue

Like the draw. ABSOLUTELY hate that we are in Denver. We aren't a quick team already and ALTITUDE may be the biggest factor if we advance. I think Xs and Os matter less for these altitude games. Whichever team deals with less oxygen late in games will probably advance. Want to see us get off to good starts in our games.

i hate it all. half our draw was getting number 1 votes during the season. then protected msu. then at altitude. **** that.

The worst part is that we are in Denver! B/c of the lack of air, I don't see us getting past Iowa St.

I live in Denver and am pumped to watch the Boilers. Altitude won't have an impact on us. I think it actually hurts up tempo teams more but does not have nearly the impact that people think.

Better freaking be going to the game! haha

Denver always makes me nervous in sports. I'm a Steelers fan, and watched Ryan Clark almost die playing in Mile High Stadium because of his sickle cell. And then with Jay Simpson's heart condition a few years ago...

Are you used to it though?

Of course I'm used to it, but away teams routinely come in here and pound the Nuggets, Avs, Rockies, and Buffs...pretty much every team except for the Broncos, who have more talent than most other team. Altitude way overrated. You can adjust relatively well in about 2 days

Wait a minute, all of the teams should be equally affected by the altitude. Regardless, Purdue should get out there sooner if they can to help adjust.
no. teams that normally play closer to that altitude will be effected less. stick to girls ;)

You guys got a better draw than IU lol...UVA is a team that you can beat.

Just need to win your R32 game.

Lol yeah I was looking at Indianas bracket man come on what a crap draw for bt reg season champs. Would not be happy if I was an iu fan. The whole big ten got shafted

Going to affect them more than it will us. We are deep enough that 2 games in 3 days will not hurt us. I like playing them with them having only 1 day to prepare for our bigs. I could also see them getting beat 1st game.

Hope you are right! From watching them a little bit, their one decent center is a really talented guy. Bring lots of energy and can play on both ends. Of course Niang is a high quality player too and loves to spread people out with his shooting.
I think its a tough draw with having to start out with the best non-power conference team but its certainly doable.

Love the draw! I even like that the winner of the region will likely get to play Oregon. Sparty will be a challenge, of course, but there is enough talent (Utah or Seton Hall) in the lower part of the bracket that they might not make it to the regional finals. I don't like that the Chicago games are over Easter weekend. Doubt the wife will let me travel with family coming to visit us.

Of course, we could lose the Iowa St, but I think this is as good a chance to get to the Final 4 as we've had since we lost to Wisconsin years ago.

If Purdue plays Oregon, they will be playing in the Championship game

Painter also coached USA Basketball in Colorado Springs. I wouldn't be surprised to see Purdue go out a little earlier than normal.

Little Rock is a good tuneup. A good team that will get Purdue's attention with its D but shouldn't have the talent to hang all game. They can't press for 40 minutes in Denver. Iowa State has almost nothing inside and is a potential dream matchup as far as I'm concerned. It has NO depth and would struggle with the quick turnaround at that intensity. I wouldn't be surprised to see them knocked off though.

As 1s and 2s, nobody is really less scary than Virginia and MSU. I think UNC would be vulnerable to Purdue as well, but ....

The draw is really there for this to be a special season. Now the team just has to play focused and take care of business.

this is perfect, Virginia is a choke artist. MSU owns them, completely owns them regardless of how low a seed MSU is/was. Virginia's coach is better than Crean but not by much (he knows Xs and Os better, has a MUCH better defensive grasp, but is a choke specialist) --- they should have attended anti-choke boot camp in Parris Island.
