Apologies if this had been posted already and I missed it. But I'm happy to talk about our current team and their future schedule even if it's a repeat discussion.

In this Indy Star article, they report that Purdue will be:

-Purdue will play Butler in the Crossroads Classics (duh)

-Purdue will be hosting New Mexico

-Purdue will likely be hosting Vanderbilt, and it's mentioned that it could be part of a Gene Keady coaching tree event (which is awesome!). Steve Lavin's departure may complicate that unless he finds a job shortly.

-Purdue will be playing in the Naismith Hall of Fame Tip-Off tournament in Connecticut. Does anyone know any of the other teams in that? This event is at the Mohegan Sun Casino, which is actually a pretty nice place. This was the weekend before Thanksgiving last year - lots of Boilers up in the northeast, excited to see them go there.

Who cares, Painter is our coach, sweet 16 is our ceiling (although it will be much lower next year) and BBC will be along for the ride ready to take whatever CMP gives him.

Found an answer for one of my questions.

The Naismith tournament has Florida, Old Dominion and St. Joseph's in CT. Some prelim games will be at Purdue.

Childish or reality. Man, you are delusional.

Literally shut up. If you have nothing to say about the topic, then don't hijack it.

C3PO PRH(U is clearly having some anger issues...best to just let him get it all out...

In other news,

The Crossroads classic could be pretty interesting next year. Off-seaons additions are clearly going to be a factor on Purdue and IU...who is Butler and ND losing?

Butler is losing PG Alex Barlow, F/C Kameron Woods, one or two little-used reserves, and I'm not sure if Austin Etherington has one more season of eligibility or not.

Notre Dame is losing PG/WG Jerian Grant, F Pat Connaughton, and there's been chatter about PG Demetrius Jackson leaving early, but I don't see that happening. If he does, he might not get drafted.

Oh, but I do have something to say. PAINTER SUCKS and we will be mediocre at best as long as he is HC. Can't wait til he is gone and I can start watching again. Although that will likely be 5 more years or as long as Burke is AD.

I'm not sure how I feel about the BTT in DC/NYC. While I live around DC and will be great for me, the Big Ten seems to have attendance problems compared to some other tournaments when it's in Chicago/Indy, let alone NYC/DC. There always seems to be more empty seats at the BTT.

I like the tournament in CT as an option - it's simple and is played on a Saturday and Sunday. Only need to really stay around the area for a night. Hope to see a big Purdue contingent there!

I didn't get to see Butler play much this year...did Etherington play much?

ND loses some big time scoring losing those two....

He was one of their regulars off the bench. He put up very modest numbers (with the exception of FT shooting).

Butler stats

Purdue will also (more than likely) be on the road for the ACC Challenge game. Maybe Pitt or Miami... If Hammons returns, ESPN may pair us with someone like Virginia, Louisville, or Notre Dame.

Vandy: (101)
Butler: (31) - Crossroads Classic
ACC Challenge: ?? Road Game??

Just stop for heaven's sake. We know your opinion. ...and it is just your opinion. You have consistently overlooked key facts and situations about how well the program has done under Painter, and why. Mostly just because the facts don't fit your warped agenda. Oh, and I won't be getting into a debate on here about this. You know the problem with arguing with an idiot..

Do you think even one of us will change his mind if you keep repeating yourself like some rattle brained parrot? Give it a rest.

I know you won't. You would support Painter to the end no matter how bad he sucks. However, if I can reach even just one fan who is confused and needing some guidance, it will all be worth it.

It's a shame that Josh Speidel was injured. That would have made the possible matchup with Vermont a lot more fun…especially if he'd have had the chance to come back home and play at Mackey.
For those that haven't heard, the young man is progressing. He's opening his eyes, following movements, and even holding a basketball. Baby steps, but still progress.

Hmmm. I would think we'd get a decent matchup in the B10/ACC Challenge. Going by this season's conference standings (I know that's not exactly how they do it, but it does give some indication), we'd be up against Louisville, North Carolina, or perhaps Miami. We played Miami back in 2012 (at home), so I don't know if they'd repeat that matchup or not.

Although none of these non-con games are great, I'm glad to see that there's not a glut of sub-300 teams yet (with the exception of those Naismith preliminary round games). In an ideal world, I'd like a non-con chock full of games against power five teams, but at the very least, let's avoid the sub-300 teams. Opponents like Lehigh, New Mexico, and St. Joseph's are at least preferable to SWAC cannon fodder.

This year we should match up very well with Butler, and we will be putting a team on the floor that will be worlds better than the year previous, at this point in the season. I expect we will win one of these affairs this year. That will be nice, since my sister and brother-in-law went to Butler and love to harrass me when we get beat by them.

Going to be a fun year, next year.

I just wanted to say that CPHRU or whatever the hell you call yourself, you are the first on my ignore list. I can usually tolerate the idiots and the flamers, but you are a special kind to be put on ignore. You literally bring absolutely nothing to conversations on here. You remind me of the homeless man who babbles on about conspiracy theories. Nobody is listening to your idiotic logic and your claims of 'mediocrity is what you all want.' You might as well just start screaming 'THE SKY IS FALLING.' Then at least, you could show you have the intelligence of a chicken.

That would be tough but that's what you want early in the season if you want to develop your team. Tough early games seem to work year after year for MSU.

Why don't we all put r2d2 on ignore. When no replies come his way he'll come back as cp30 or some other reincarnation of the same stupid poster but at least by ignoring him you know longer have to read his drivel.

I have been hoping for this since I moved here 8 years ago.....figured with 3 ACC schools within 28 miles I would get to see it someday.

I live exactly in the middle of Duke and UNC..4 miles each way...........

I could drive my 1952 Purdue Truck down thru either campus during the week to get their attention!

Ha Ha...Boiler Up and fingers crossed we get one of the 3.......UNC, Duke or NCSU.

Vandy should come here. Wasn't that key to scheduling our game there? And I would expect us to go to New Mexico the following year. And if we get ND in South Bend for the ACC Challenge I wouldn't mind that. I always want payback and expect next season's squad to be very capable of just that. Same with playing Butler. I think a better SOS is what CMP is probably striving for. Btfu!

Still need to strengthen that schedule. I don't see that any better than this year's schedule. I would be upset if I were a season ticket holder and my best non-con home game was New Mexico. Come on AD, man up and play some big boy conferences.

Okay, I can agree with htis. Every year MSU schedules 1-2 tough games to get their focus and play elevated. This might be great for Purdue.

Duke may not be as good next year and it would be great to get a signature win early. That would be the hope but probably would get beat they are always so talented. I hope we play Duke or UNC haven't played a power house in nonconf for a long time.

It sounds like it's just a matter of figuring out dates more than anything. I'd expect it to be over winter break (like our game was last year).

I guarantee you we do not play Notre Dame in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Perhaps now is a good time to try to make another home-and-home with WVU work again.

lets hope they match Purdue up with one of the top teams, lets see how good the team is, why fear any team, I would think playing a top team would be welcome by the Purdue team

I know Lehigh is on the schedule, will be nice to see Matt Holba coming back to the state to play a game.

No. Purdue basically has a regular schedule of playing ND. Purdue almost certainly will play this ACC/Big Ten game on the road after having 2 home games in a row. No chance Purdue will be ok with playing @ Notre Dame, and then playing them in Indianapolis the next year without having the chance to play them at home.

We can blame the Purdue/ND history all we want on ND then and rightfully so, but Purdue would not be very happy in that situation.

Oh, definitely. To be honest, I'm a fan of any home-and-home with a power five team.

We've recently had them with Alabama, West Virginia (twice, right?), and then started one with Vanderbilt this year. It'd be nice to see more than one of those on the schedule each year.

Purdue not being ok with it won't make any difference for the challenge. Match ups are made by E$PN. If they think sending Purdue to South Bend will provide some drama and hopefully a close game, that's what they'll do.

Vandy, Butler, Buffalo, Vermont, ODU and Vermont could be pretty good next year. St. Joseph's also had a lot of you of talent, played mostly sophomores and frosh in 2014-15. New Mexico looks like it's going in the wrong direction since losing Alford, but it looks like an improved schedule for 2015-16.
