Just peeking ahead to next year, we play some teams that I can't recall ever playing. TCU at and Vandy at Ross Aid
Opening the year up in at Nevada, would love to do a Reno trip and see them in person.

Looking at the schedule, the only game I suspect we won't be favored will be at Happy Valley. A very good schedule to break in this new recruiting class, and its very possible this team gets to 9-10 wins.

Vandy/TCU/Minnesota/Maryland/Illinois/Nebraska/IU are all at home.

At Penn State and at Camp Randall are the big ones.

I am excited about our defense maturing next year, but am also concerned about the offense, especially the offensive line, which would lose most of its starters. Knox, Markel Jones, Zico, and Terry Wright also graduate; that's a huge chunk of our production. Blough will also be gone and Sindelar will start in his stead; I like Sindelar and his potential, but he is not as good as Blough under pressure. I suspect that our offense may struggle in the first few games as it adjusts to the new OL. Perhaps not the 0-3 start we had this year, but it will take some time for the offense to gel. 9-10 wins may be a wishful thinking; 8 wins would be mostly likely.

You think we will be favored against TCU? Are they expecting to drop off, or do you think we are just going to improve past them?

TCU will be coming off a bye week as well it looks like.

TCU is having an off year. There have been personnel issues. I think that they are on the downslide. I expected them to be really tough initially but I am much more confident playing them.

Drop off or improve past them? I don't think TCU is who you think they are. They have a losing record right now but I don't know enough about their team to know if there are factors leading to a poor record that will go away.

I do NOT like our schedule next year. All our tough games are on the road. No big wins at home against tough opponents. With our schedule we SHOULD go undefeated at home next year. TCU is our toughest game and they are 41 in Sagarin, everyone else is 66 or lower. We do have some tough road games with NU, Wisky, Iowa, and PSU. I wouldn't count on any of those for wins and to forecast more than 8 wins would be clearly biased. I may change my mind if we win out including a big bowl and beat Wisconsin convincingly.

PSU loses its QB (I believe) this year. Wisky and Iowa are on the downslide as well. NU can be beaten. I could see a Clear path to the B1G Title game and a potential BCS berth.

PSU is very good, losing their QB is not going to break that team.
Wisconsin has owned us for a very long time. I cannot count on a win at Camp Randal.
Iowa is not necessarily a downslide, they are a very good team and could be top 3 in the Big 10.
NU can be beaten, but we have not done so since 2010. I dont think we can count on beating them especially the road.
Sure we can beat them on the road, but i will be happy with 1 win out of these three games.

TCU better bring it as I am confident Purdue will. Boilermakers all the way!!!!

We had a home/away schedule in 1969-70 with TCU. Both opening season games that we won with QB Mike Phipps in 69' at TCU and then QB Chuck Piebes at Ross-Ade in 70". Piebes was installed at QB by Demoss early in 1970 for first couple of games.. Don't anticipate ever being anointed to "Cradle of Quarterbacks", though. Luckily Demo came to his senses and started Gary Danielson later in year

I suspect PSU will be better next year than this year. They are still a young team that's recruited very well the past couple of years.
