This is going to take a little getting used to. I liked the simplicity of the old format, but I'm open to change.

Yeah not sure how I feel about this new format. I don't think GBI has a choice really, but the old format was pretty simple.
I do like the added report function .. hopefully it does what I think it does and we reduce a lot of the crap that used to go on.
Here's a silly question..........why when I click on this thread does it go to the last post, while on other threads it starts from the beginning? Should I be scared?
I like it at first glance and once I get used to it I will like it a lot more. My favorite part is liking posts, eliminates the unnecessary quoting of a post just to comment "this". Avatars are cool too.
After using the new look 3 or 4 times today, I think I'm going to like it. It feels more "familiar" than I first thought it would and the font is much easier to read. I like the spacing of the messages as well.
I think it's a net positive (as someone who really only uses the mobile site). As a mobile user, I have access to more capabilities and it is easier to read.

I am not a big fan of a lot of this since I too prefer a thread format but to answer your question it appears to me that the forum "remembers" the last post you viewed in a thread or the first NEW post and takes you to that spot.
If it is a new thread for you, you start at the top. If it is a thread you have been viewing it brings you to the next new one. It has done that for the ones that I have gone back to look at. If that is true I guess I can get over the thread view although it is still harder to see who the poster is replying to if he/she goes not directly use the name or a quote.
