New favorite Purdue Player - Emmanuel Dowuona

First, watch the interview with him. Just a great kid. "Defense comes from the heart" - I love that.

Then watch Watch his dunks at the 5:25 and 5:55 marks. This kid is very athletic for a big man. And he is going to be a fan favorite and soon!
Very agile, good hands, soft touch, and knows how to use the glass. And I liked the dunk at 6:07, too.

So watching the video I noticed so many things to like about him. He has a nice outside shot, great patience and ball awareness, he put it on the floor and drove and of course, the dunks.

What a great pickup this kid is.
Amazing he has been playing the sport of basketball for only 2 years. When I heard that, I really got why MP made him a priority. It will be VERY interesting to see how he develops over his career. Very likable kid too.

He is a good athlete, with great quickness for a big. No wasted motion in getting the ball to the basket. He has the physical tools to be very good. However, what WILL make him very good is his hunger. Obviously he is not one that has been made to believe he is the next coming of some great player, that others should already bow down to, but knows hardship and willing to pay the price to become a great player. I like him and think Purdue got another good one. Now if Williams can get and keep his weight down and Purdue lands Hunter...they are set for even more years.

Exactly what I've been thinking. We are just seeing his makes on a highlight tape, but for someone who has been playing organized basketball for only 2 years, he has an incredibly soft touch on his shot. He even looked comfortable putting ball on floor and has nice foot work which leads you to believe his offensive game will grow. The GBI video shows more of his raw/defensive potential side, but it's easy to see why Purdue went all in here.

Too early to look ahead, but the '19-'20 core roster of Jr Eastern, Sr Carsen, So/Jr Stefonavic, Jr Wheeler, So Williams, So Dowuona, and Jr Haarms looks like a fun team on paper. Come on down Mr Hunter!

NO Blocked Shots!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope he wants a 4 year degree!!!!!!

Looking forward to him signing the dotted line. I can't believe we got this kid, so I will be nervous until signing day.

Just for fun, go to the 4:17 mark and look at the kid about a step behind the elbow.
Well, that is the long and short of it... :). I hope people realize the talent in this clip is not a lot, but none takes away from what we do see physically, what we do hear mentally and how we know this kid is just starting to learn basketball. Those things shine through even if the talent leaves something to be desired... ;)
