I am betting on Les Miles as the new coach. Sumlin second. Fleck third.

Sumlin has a job. A job he won't leave until he's fired.

A job he's not likely to get fired from this year.

If he's not fired, I assume we'd have to pay a massive buyout to TAMU.

Nothing points to him being an actual, viable option.

not with holtz but calhoun would be a good choice. he runs the offense he does at air force because he has to. he was an oc for the denver broncos so he knows how to coach offense.

I think Sumlin is only slightly more likely than Vince Lombardi to be our next coach.

I suspect if they think it is close to wrapping up, Miles seems most likely. That would be a huge story in CFB. I'd be impressed. He wasn't my first choice but I'd admire the audacity.

Last year after Purdue lost to Marshall, and we all knew that Purdue would only win one game (a fluke that Purdue beat NEB), I made list of dream coaches. Miles was on that list. I did not think any on that list would be Purdue's coach

Houston will promote Major Applewhite. They've built a lot of success working this way and can't see them deviating from what they have been so successful at. Plus most think Applewhite is do for a decent head gig.

No way Miles is going to TX or OR. The thought that Miles is going to end up at an elite school is misguided IMO. Big schools can do better than Miles. I think he goes to the next layer of openings after the TX, LSU, and potentially FSU. And I think we might be able to buy our way into that club.

People keep saying on here Purdue is a dead end, no win job. I think it's a job and program that can only go up from here with a top notch coach. Miles or Fleck could easily have us back in bow contention in a couple of years and look like a hero.
