Any chance the new coach will coach his former team in a bowl game or will AD learn from the Hazell era and want him to build his staff and focus on recruiting?
I would prefer to see the coach begin immediately at Purdue.
We need to find a coach that's retired then. Problem solvedAny chance the new coach will coach his former team in a bowl game or will AD learn from the Hazell era and want him to build his staff and focus on recruiting?
If its Fleck, he may rescind the prior offers? If it's Fleck, and they end up in a NYD 6 bowl, I can't fault the guy for wanting that shot.
Yeah, we set a bad precident with Hazell and letting him do it but these 2 guys aren't the same in any way. I'd hate to lose out on the next transcendent coach in CFB because we couldn't wait a few weeks for him to get here.
Our recruiting class is actually not as bad as it has been. 70% of it is sewn up as of now. If we hired a guy like Fleck, recruits wouldn't jump ship and he wouldn't need time to fill in with talent either.
I'm ok with it.
