New Coach/Bowl Game

I would prefer to see the coach begin immediately at Purdue.

If it's Fleck, and they end up in a NYD 6 bowl, I can't fault the guy for wanting that shot.

Yeah, we set a bad precident with Hazell and letting him do it but these 2 guys aren't the same in any way. I'd hate to lose out on the next transcendent coach in CFB because we couldn't wait a few weeks for him to get here.

Our recruiting class is actually not as bad as it has been. 70% of it is sewn up as of now. If we hired a guy like Fleck, recruits wouldn't jump ship and he wouldn't need time to fill in with talent either.

I'm ok with it.

If its Fleck, he may rescind the prior offers?

Other than staff hires and getting to know the team, a new coach won't be able to do much as December is mostly a 'dead period' for recruiting:

(2) 12-12-16 thru 01-11-17 Dead Period *with the following exception (i)
(i) Contact Period. Coaches may have contact with a recruit who has been admitted for midyear enrollment, provided the recruit has signed a National Letter of Intent.

Personally, I would think a coach like Fleck would be able to put together names, interests, and potential hires for a staff while prepping his team. I honestly think Hazell's failures simply go back to him being a poor head coach with poor skills and a want to micro-manage.
