I think that Taylor will always be a question. But Painter has made it pretty clear that he will add another big to replace Biggie, not Taylor. If he does, and Taylor is healthy, watch out world.Appears Painter really wants to get another Big/Post player in the 2017 class. Only concerns me because maybe he knows something about Taylor or isn't counting on him being available. If Taylor can play our post is more than sufficient for the next couple years.
I've been saying this for awhile now that with Biggie leaving, our #1 priority should be a bruiser inside that can rebound the ball.
Haas will get his if it comes straight to him, VE is not big enough or strong enough to battle inside. We can't count on Taylor and Haarms is not ready. We may get a little help from Ewing, but without Biggie inside we will get out rebounded on a pretty regular basis. Epperson is nice but won't help in that regard, but Diong would fit nicely.
I agree wholeheartedly! I have been saying the same thing and that is why it stings that Xavier Tillman went to MSU. He was a bruiser, and MSU already has 3 guys inside (including Nick Ward), AND JJJ commiting. I don't think Tillman will see much playing minutes any time soon, which is a shame; he would have been set as a starter next year had he joined Purdue.
People are saying Creighton lock.....but I think Utah is in the mix too.Now that I think about it, this offer and Ondigo's offer might not be a sign about Taylor, but about Epperson. Maybe Painter knows that Epperson is definitely not coming, and he wants to get someone before it's too late. Anyone hear about what is going on with Epperson?

My concern is Painter is being contacted about Haas......if he also leaves for NBA we need another big for 2017 as well Adam Trapp in 2018.
That would give us Taylor at the 5, back up RS Freshman in Haarms that can stretch the floor with his shooting, pass and rebound and then depth in any 2017 signed Center and Adam Trapp in 2018 the future.
Ondigo or Diong would fill the 2017 role nicely.....
Those are my thoughts.....all good stuff and Boiler Up!

After watching the highlight, I'm not so impressed. He is obviously not playing against good opponents. He seems quick and somewhat athletic, but there is no clip where he shows much skill. It's not to say that the man is unskilled, as I don't know much about him, but he seems to be a project at best. He won't be a contributor any time soon.
He's more of a 4 than a 5... unless he puts on some muscle. I'm more concerned about him ever getting healthy enough to play a full season.Am I the only one who thinks Taylor can be a four if he gets healthy. To me that would be ideal with his quickness and ability to knock down threes.

I'm pulling for him also... but if he's not healthy next year, it might be time to pull the plug. I can't see tying a scholarship up for 6 years for a player that can't get on the court. No, you're not. IF he gets and stays healthy is the question. Plenty of us pulling for him.
You know my thoughts on Taylor......he can play the 4 or 5 and is a team player and will play when and whatever position asked to.No, you're not. IF he gets and stays healthy is the question. Plenty of us pulling for him.

NO, I see him and his body a little more 4 than the traditional 5 for Purdue. He likes to roam the perimeter too much for the 5 Matt typically plays. Once Haas is is subbed or gone from Purdue I would like Matt to play two fours...my bias and the way I think the game is leaning due to the reduced clock and emphasis on driving the ballAm I the only one who thinks Taylor can be a four if he gets healthy. To me that would be ideal with his quickness and ability to knock down threes.
and all the reason to seriously look at Purdue. Purdue class will have more speed than today...join the other athletes Mbacke...Louisville and Pitt seems to be in the mix for Mbacke. He seems like a Louisville type big. Malik Williams will take most of the PT there though.
I would guess Louisville isn't recruiting him anymore 247 has Pittsburgh as his last prediction. Don't think anybody would predict Pitt if Pitino was actively recruiting him.Louisville and Pitt seems to be in the mix for Mbacke. He seems like a Louisville type big. This kid really looks athletic. If he has the desire, he could get pretty good. Athletes with the right demeanor have a higher ceiling than skilled players. Skilled players were not born that way and usually already have the right demeanor. A team needs a good mix..but it appears that Matt is aligning a more athletic team down the road generally.Im not sure Purdue needs him. Why is Painter recruiting so many guys in the 2017 class? You'd think with the success were riding on currently we would be offering higher ranked recruits too
Pitt offered Wheeler. And Stallings offered CE at Vandy.Love seeing two Purdue guys going after the same recruits.....
Stallings and Painter going head to head.... we lost out on the last one.
Stallings nabbed Brown.
Pitt already has a Center Verbal from Peace llegohma.
Weber and Stallings are after Ondigo
