I ran into a guy few months back who works part time at Mackey, in a position where he comes into contact with the visiting basketball coaches. I asked him, "who's the nicest guy among all the coaches you've met", and without hesitation he said Izzo. Said he is genuinely a really nice guy.

Asked him who the biggest jerk was, and just as quickly he said, "Tom Crean".

I ran into a guy few months back who works part time at Mackey, in a position where he comes into contact with the visiting basketball coaches. I asked him, "who's the nicest guy among all the coaches you've met", and without hesitation he said Izzo. Said he is genuinely a really nice guy.

Asked him who the biggest jerk was, and just as quickly he said, "Tom Crean".

Fits my preconception almost 100%.

Izzo has his public image down. His program still looks plenty shady from where I sit and I think all the trouble his players have had off the court after leaving MSU are very telling.

Izzo is surrounded with a town that looks the other way in his personal life. He isn't quite the saint he is made out to be. A good coach and a nice guy, yes. But pretty hollow and shallow in reality as a person

So everybody just needs to get over it if you want to root for a team that will go to a final four find somebody else to root for not going to happen here at Purdue. Exact reason why I think we should turn our basketball program into an after-school special and don't compete in the NCAA just play teams from the school. We would save a lot of money that way. And we wouldn't have people on this board fighting and arguing about who the coach is.
