Purdue offers 2024 combo guard Kalysta Martin. Martin has averaged 22.7 points and 14 rebounds per game over her three years at Providence Catholic in San Antonio, Texas.
One more addition is likely in my opinion. Gearlds and the staff are at least contacting a few others. Not sure how likely those are though. As far as 2023, you hearing news on a final addition or two?
Possibly her or a graduate 1 year big that is fine getting 15-20 minutes a game, guessing there’s some of those out there. That addition would have to be Alaina Harper - only one that makes sense. Which I’m fine with. She didn’t have an insane year at GCU - numbers wise - but when she got the minutes she was productive - which is all you can really expect from a true freshmen post. She was also starting to really come on strong towards the end of the year which you can also expect as a true frosh. She has size and the frame to pound down low and she is a fairly skilled shooter like her older sister: we don’t need a starter to come in. The post group of Mila, Caitlyn, Alaina and MA will be an improvement than the last two years for sure.
I’ve read she’s about 6’2 now so she is obviously a load for any HS guard to handle thus being able to snatch up the boards. KG loves herself a big guard that’s for sure, not surprising given her playing career.Averaging 14 rebounds per game over a three year period seems pretty d**m good for a combo guard not playing in the lane. Either great instincts or super athletic or some combo (get it, combo?) of the two.
