Whats with all of you ? You know who you are .... This team is so good even the trolls are gone.

Top 5 in all computer rankings , best resume in country according to ncaa committee new rules , 1 of 2 teams in country with top 10 offense and defense. Pass the EYE TEST , yes they do

Can shoot it lights out, pass, got the best size in the nation and a very good forward in Edwards.

Could we use another athletic 3? Yes.... that’s the only weakness I see. This team is better than last years. Yet so many of you want to announce that this team can’t win a National title blah blah , mr book writer posting negative after negative.

What else do some of you want ? The team is so good a talent like Eastern is barely playing . Get over yourselves and your really pessimistic opinions.

I'll ask one question. if yo u predict the boilermakers wil l finish 2nd in the BIG 10 with a Sweet 16 finish, is that being negative , positive or realistic?

if this was the Iowa board, that would be downright jumping for joy positive. and if this was the IU board, their would be tears of joy shed with those predictions. but on this board, is that being negative? or being realistic?

I'm known by most for being slightly negative and critical - especially when it comes to the BIG 10 being about making money by adding teams like Rutgers for the sole purpose of making money for the network.

But when I opened the lipscomb game thread, reading all those posts from supposed positive people, I thought we were losing by 20 instead of winning by 20. it's odd how those same people can be so positive, yet lose their heads during a game.

the nature of a sports forum is people come to sports forums to complain. and by comparison, this forum is a lot more positive than any other sports forum I contribute to. And that's saying a lot because the other sports forums have multiple moderators who delete the majority of their negative posts, and ban the negative posters.

and if we always agreed with each other, our discussions would not exist. and by disagreement, we each learn something.

While we all think it, it's best not to flaunt it. It will just turn into setting season requirements that do nothing to take into consideration situations.

At the end of the day, they are college athletes playing a game. I enjoy watching these guys play and they play well - if they end up 2 wins shy of my personal goal, or in the round of 16 instead of 8, it's really not going to affect our lives. Enjoy the wins....it's not easy to do consistently.

Actually, I do. If it is a subject area I'm interested I read everyone's postings. Still, I'm always more interested in basketball specifics than predictions, ratings or valuations based at one time of the year where teams are selected to play certain teams at certain places...other than recruiting hype.

Amazing how an incredible game by Vince Edwards gets nothing. He was really taken down by many for lack of focus last year and even this year. We are a really good team. We have many hornet's nests we will encounter on the road in the Big 10. Cannot win them all. But we are a really good team with many weapons, inside and out.

What struck me last night with Vince was late in the game up by 20+, Vince was busting his tail on the court.

He may not be your typical/ideal leader, but he sure as hell leads by example.

I do think people want him to play that type of game against good opponents. It's an unfair expectation because he has played very well many times against good teams, he usually just doesn't get the spotlight. I hope he does some big things this season, he certainly deserves it.

Its almost that we have so many weapons now he sometimes gets the back seat to Carsen's drives or quick shots, Mathias's improved mid range game or 3 pt shot, or the feed to Haas. Vince plays as an opportunist, he breaks down a weakness and is usually how he scores. He has less opportunities to score this season, which is why he may be underrated. Keep in mind, Vince always gets better as the season progresses.

I applaud your positivity. And I agree this team is very good. But I think you're letting your love for this team get in the way of objectivity. Getting to the Elite 8 is very very difficult regardless of how good a team is. It takes being a very good team along with quite a bit of luck in getting the right matchups, and not running into a very hot team. Purdue hasn't proven to be a great tournament team. Just look back at Atlantis if you want to see an example of that. Can they do it? Sure. Would I bet on it? No.

What irks me the most at this board are the posters who put down a player without also heaping praise. It is easy to do and takes a lot more thought to praise a player for an overlook attribute. Take Vince and Isaac. Has anyone commented how Isaac intimidates shooters down low just by a subtle double team and how Vince is doing a great job covering Isaac's man plus his? Vince has been in the right position to pick off several passes.
