Wherever my wife tells me I should be
a few things....
  1. Last year they struggle to win their first game. Finally, after going 0-6, they win one.
  2. This year, after all those struggles, they're in the top 25.
  3. They just lost a game in OT on the road to Colorado.
After the futility of last year, how the H*LL does this team sneak into the top 25 so D@MN EARLY in the season, without proving anything?

Early season ratings are done by clowns.

was wondering the same when the rankings came out, it's going to take a few seasons for Frosty to get them back.

The ONLY reason is Scott Frost. That's why. I find it laughable and soooo predictable.

Shankapotamus with a new kicker, and they go down in OT to Colorado (31-34) after seemingly having one wrapped up in regulation but giving up a late TD.

Preseason rankings really mean nothing. It's all hype and just gives fans and others something to talk about. Ranking will shake out in a few weeks. Still lots of football to be played.

I know sagarin, ken pom and other model makers have all said there is a lot of good data and correlation in the pre-season rankings. One data point against them doesn't mean they ought to be replaced with whatever other system you'd suggest.

Frost took UCF from 0-12 the year before he got their to 13-0 in his second year. Clearly the pundits looked for some of the same magic or inferred some real coaching chops. Turns out they were incorrect but the system, just like star rankings, on the whole is solid.

If they recruit a few more felons they can be as great as the old Osborne teams.

They are off to a good start. While watching that game for 10 minutes- I heard the commentator say the RB (who just made a play) was a former Georgia Tech RB who was kicked out of school, went to Juco, then to the Huskers.

The same drive, a WR caught a pass and the commentator talked about how this kid had criminal charges pending in California, but Frost elected to allow him to keep playing until 'the courts settled the situation'...something to that effect.

Those were just the two I heard mentioned in the 10 minutes I watched. Those Huskers are a real classy bunch. Very happy to see them lose. The Nebraska coaching staff is like the Clem Haskins of football. If the kids can play- they will let them in- regardless of the baggage.

Is this like the Longest Yard with a twist using work release players?

I think we need to start more threads about other teams we could care less about! How about a thread about Rutgers, Iowa, Maryland, Penn St or Illinois? It also gets annoying and tiring to see posters talk about other team’s players as if they were all thugs and convicts! Purdue has had its share of players in the past who have also had their day in court as well ! I believe rather than throwing stones at others, you should just leave them on the ground where they belong!

bigs, since I started the thread I'll respond directly to you.

The thread was CLEARLY marked that it was about Nebraska football.

The same Nebraska that's in our division of our conference.

I'm not going to address the comments about another program's players, but if you don't like to subject matter of a particular thread, the logical route would be to avoid the thread.

Hmmm. That last sentence is just a tad bit ironic. How about you leave other posters threads on the ground instead of telling all of us what we can and can’t write about?

It gets pretty old hearing you drone on all the time, but you still do it...
