They have sellouts for a team that is mediocre at best. Tied at halftime against mighty ND
They're tied with Notre Dame? 😂They have sellouts for a team that is mediocre at best. Tied at halftime against mighty ND
Yeah, at this point he's a dead man walking. He looked like someone punched him in the gut at his halftime interview. I'm sure they'll be getting Urban Meyer next...😂They are just waiting for the buyout to drop.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.Yeah, at this point he's a dead man walking. He looked like someone punched him in the gut at his halftime interview. I'm sure they'll be getting Urban Meyer next...😂
And if the impossible happens and they beat the Sooners? They are just waiting for the buyout to drop.
He gone by end of yearAnd if the impossible happens and they beat the Sooners?
Why suffer for another month for the sake of saving money that ultimately won't even matter with the new broadcasting contracts? They are just waiting for the buyout to drop.
If he is still there for the Purdue game, it will be a parting gift of sorts...I can only hope in that Trev has done a lousy job in general as AD that he somehow messes up again with teh new hire.He gone by end of year
Money doesnt go up immediately. They still have to fund itWhy suffer for another month for the sake of saving money that ultimately won't even matter with the new broadcasting contracts?
Urban's there for the taking. If he is still there for the Purdue game, it will be a parting gift of sorts...I can only hope in that Trev has done a lousy job in general as AD that he somehow messes up again with teh new hire.
Doubtful. Why would he go to that shit show when there have and will be other better opportunities?Urban's there for the taking.
Already rumored...and, would not be shocking by any means. Also would not be good for some of the schools (like Purdue) that have taken advantage of the incompetency there for a while.Urban's there for the taking.
$$$, and, needs back in desperately, and, in either of the two relevant conferences.Doubtful. Why would he go to that shit show when there have and will be other better opportunities?
Maybe this guy can help?Money doesnt go up immediately. They still have to fund it
Thank You,$$$, and, needs back in desperately, and, in either of the two relevant conferences.
Nebraska is a sleeping giant...great support...plenty of resources...desperate to win...will gladly participate from NIL standpoint...never have cared in general about the character of players (which aligns perfectly with Urban)...I could definitely see it happen.
when I was a kid, late 1960's , they were my teamIt seems like forever since they were great. I wonder if the Big Ten Presidents would still accept them today, if they were invited now, rather than 10 years ago (I suspect they probably would, but it might take a little more thought). Still, they've done something Purdue has not (won a national championship in a major sport). If we're never going to win it all, I wouldn't mind seeing Nebraska get some of their mojo back.
A lot like Indinia basketball, the issue is that people remember those days, but, have not progressed from them...and, that is seemingly very much the case with 'Husker football.when I was a kid, late 1960's , they were my team
close, but it's Northern DepauwThey're tied with Notre Dame? 😂
Frost is done after this year, Urban had his year off to rejuvinate, he also seems to like he's impressed by teams that pack the stadium.A lot like Indinia basketball, the issue is that people remember those days, but, have not progressed from them...and, that is seemingly very much the case with 'Husker football.
They moved on quickly from a couple of guys after Osborne that in hindsight were not awful, particularly with what was to follow.
I think there is the chance to win there with the right guy(s)...and, while I am not an Urban fan, his success in College Football as a HC cannot be questioned.
The issue would be whether he could accumulate the talent there...if he thinks that he can, it is not a bad spot for him actually, and, might arguably be one of the better ones that will be available soon.
Difference is IU Basketball is in a recruiting hotbed. Nebraska football… not so much.A lot like Indinia basketball, the issue is that people remember those days, but, have not progressed from them...and, that is seemingly very much the case with 'Husker football.

My guess is if Urban were there and $$$ was on the table, guys would find a way to get there...and, guys from Indy/Cincy looking at OSU, UM and ND are largely not looking at Indinia and Purdue.Difference is IU Basketball is in a recruiting hotbed. Nebraska football… not so much.
Kids just can’t take unofficial visits there.
Over a 1 week spring break, a kid from Indy or Cincy can visit Ohio State, Purdue, IU, Notre Dame, Michigan and Michigan State.
Or he can visit Iowa and Nebraska.
But, it allowed for Frost to become HC? That worked out well...as did all of the others that preceded him and failed.Way way way way too much old money in Lincoln to allow Urban to become HC.
Ever spend time in Lincoln?....They are a stubborn bunch (Frost is one of 'em). Maybe you are right. There comes a time for everything. But, it allowed for Frost to become HC? That worked out well...as did all of the others that preceded him and failed.
At some point, that old money cares ONLY about winning...and, my guess, is it is at that point now...as, that old money will be gone with the folks holding it, and, they want to see Nebraska win, and win big, before they (and their money) go.
If Nebraska can outbid OSU, UM, ND etc in NIL transactions, then they will get kids. But I doubt that happens. My guess is if Urban were there and $$$ was on the table, guys would find a way to get there...and, guys from Indy/Cincy looking at OSU, UM and ND are largely not looking at Indinia and Purdue.
Your point is valid...it is more work to find your way to Lincoln, but, again...if they are winning and they are paying (which is more important than if they are winning), and, if they are turning out NFL guys (as Urban has everywhere that he has been), guys will find their way there to visit.
If ND does not join a conference, they will become irrelevant, provided the conferences allow that to happen. If Nebraska can outbid OSU, UM, ND etc in NIL transactions, then they will get kids. But I doubt that happens.
If they can get a guy like Urban there, that could be the catalyst for a modest type of turnaround (9-10 win seasons) but I think he waits for a better job to open, like an Auburn or Florida State. If ND does not join a conference, they will become irrelevant, provided the conferences allow that to happen.
Again...fair point though...but, I think they will be willing to spend what those programs are...just a matter at that point if guys will take it from them opposed to those other programs...if a few do, it will lead to others doing so likely...that being the case...to your point...easier said than actually done.

Harsin is all but done at Auburn. His lone protector AD Allen Greene was forced out last week. Oh he resigned but had no choice but to save face. But Nebraska has clearly shown they are willing to let him suck for a few years before firing him. He won't get that at Auburn
Urban won't take a CF HC position at a school without a strong recruiting base. The HS football in a radius of 300 to 400 miles is really weak - the whole state only has a population of 1.9 millionUrban's there for the taking.
Narcissist coaches aren’t worried about sucking. But Nebraska has clearly shown they are willing to let him suck for a few years before firing him. He won't get that at Auburn
Nebraska still gets Top 25 classes even with being where it is at. Bill Callahan had a Top 5 class. Urban is a recruiting machine and it wouldn't matter where Nebraska is geographically. He'd get most of the guys he wants because Nebraska is a brand and Urban is a known commodity.Difference is IU Basketball is in a recruiting hotbed. Nebraska football… not so much.

Are you an IU basketball fan by chance ?Nebraska still gets Top 25 classes even with being where it is at. Bill Callahan had a Top 5 class. Not in the least. Hate IU basketball and actually cheer Purdue basketball every year until they destroy my bracket in March because I send them too deep in the tourney. Are you an IU basketball fan by chance ?
Ok, because you remind me of IU basketball fans. Not in the least. Hate IU basketball and actually cheer Purdue basketball every year until they destroy my bracket in March because I send them too deep in the tourney.
They have the same definition apparently that Indinia basketball doesLol I didn’t know Georgia Southern was good enough to hang with a “blue blood “
How Frost did not get fired at the half is mind boggling...Lol I didn’t know Georgia Southern was good enough to hang with a “blue blood “
