Slightly off-topic and apologies if this has already been discussed, but it blows me away that Michigan had two top-15 draft picks and Hunter Dickinson on last year's team and still couldn't make the NCAA Tournament.
Whoa. Just saw he went 57th. Yeah, Edey probably wasn't getting drafted.I was surprised that TJD didn’t go a little higher, frankly.
Think I would have picked Nick Smith over the Belmont kid, we’ll see though. How do you think the Pacers did with their selections?
They got some nice players. Difference makers, doubtful, but we will see??
I do like the Wong kid @ 55, can he can make the team?
Bufkin never impressed me, Howard was injured some, he didn’t stand out that much either, the NBA draft is all about potential. That Sanogo kid not getting drafted was a surprise to me.Slightly off-topic and apologies if this has already been discussed, but it blows me away that Michigan had two top-15 draft picks and Hunter Dickinson on last year's team and still couldn't make the NCAA Tournament.
I was not. Very overrated imo. Pacers took 3 guards over him.I was surprised that TJD didn’t go a little higher, frankly.
Like he's anywhere near as good as Edey.Whoa. Just saw he went 57th. Yeah, Edey probably wasn't getting drafted.
You couldn't be more wrong (is it a surprise?) about Jarace Walker. How do you think the Pacers did with their selections?

TJD was projected to go well above Edey in the earlier mock drafts.Like he's anywhere near as good as Edey.
Not when you can only go to your left. Get away with it in college, but not in the NBA.I was surprised that TJD didn’t go a little higher, frankly.
Edey and TJD are two different type of players, so I could have seen Edey going higher.Whoa. Just saw he went 57th. Yeah, Edey probably wasn't getting drafted.
All good points. I kindof forgot that they had early injuries. Still, that's A LOT of talent on a team that couldn't bluff it's way to 20 wins and a #10 seed. Even toward the end of the year they were very inconsistent, if I recall correctly.Bufkin never impressed me, Howard was injured some, he didn’t stand out that much either, the NBA draft is all about potential. That Sanogo kid not getting drafted was a surprise to me.

He went where he had things already lined out ahead of time with the Warriors. Supposedly a three year deal was already in the worksI was surprised that TJD didn’t go a little higher, frankly.
Third pick was a waste but I do feel Wong can make the teamHow do you think the Pacers did with their selections?

Belmont kid is a lot like John Paxson for you old timers like meThink I would have picked Nick Smith over the Belmont kid, we’ll see though.
Def not true on the only go to your left comment. Took what was given to himNot when you can only go to your left. Get away with it in college, but not in the NBA.
Ask Braden Smith how good JHS was 😎 and then NBA GM’s. Good fit at LAAn unusual draft! Edey and Dickinson were very smart to come back to college. I was hoping TJD might fall to the Bucks . I was shocked the pacers passed on him twice. I noticed the 2021 player of the year and ncaa leading rebounder the last two years from Kentucky wasn’t drafted and neither was the player from Gonzaga.
The nba is becoming a lot like the nfl. They love their combine results and future potential over actual performance! The Packers could care less about performance as long as the player has speed! I’m not sure what the NBA minds saw in half of the players drafted. Other than potential.
Was the player from IU really worthy of being a first round pick? I haven’t paid much attention. How did that last IU guard do that was a 1 year wonder and was drafted by the Celtics? I forgot his name already.
There seemed like a lot of reaches this year. But looking back at the last 10 years, Very few second round picks have amounted to anything in the nba.
Drew TimmeThe pacers ended up signing the center from Kentucky rather than drafting TJD. Gonzaga’s Timms signed with the Bucks
Difference makers are all stars eh? Gee thanks coach Buck.Difference makers are All stars.
Good to know J Walker will be an all star. Great news for the Pacers.
Actually, I don't watch the Pacers, just wanted input on college guys headed there. Thank you for providing......even if in a poor manner.
Agreed. The biggest difference between Edey and TJD is that Edey can shoot!Tjd will never play a minute in the nba
He did not get to pick who drafted him, someone could have picked him sooner. He went where he had things already lined out ahead of time with the Warriors. Supposedly a three year deal was already in the works
Yes but Buchanan said the TJD camp basically asked the pacers not to draft him, due to a logjam at the 5.He did not get to pick who drafted him, someone could have picked him sooner.
Just telling you that GS GM said the were considering him In first round and that they ended up getting another player and still got himHe did not get to pick who drafted him, someone could have picked him sooner.

He’ll get some time, there’s bums in the league, not saying he’ll be stellar but he’s playing a minute lolTjd will never play a minute in the nba
Sure about that?He isn’t getting a guaranteed contract at the second to last pick. It’s called a two way contract. It means he’ll start in the gleague. If he doe’s really well they can bring him up to the nba to sit on the bench
No, he's on the 15-man roster because of this deal. Doesn't mean he won't end up in the G-League at some point. I'll bet the over if you're setting the number of NBA minutes at 0.5.He isn’t getting a guaranteed contract at the second to last pick. It’s called a two way contract. Was Dray Green considered a good shooter out of MSU? I do not recall. I know he was a good rebounder and defender. Maybe Jr. sees that in TJD.No, he's on the 15-man roster because of this deal. I find it interesting that GS was so enamored with him, and seemingly NO ONE else was? Surely it's not solely because of the Dunleavy connection. Just seems odd.
Getting into the lane against the Purdue guards is a bit of how Purdue plays coming up from wing to baseline and trailing the offensive player and curing into the lane and right or wrong giving up the longer 2. Before Schifino it was X Johnson in how Purdue defended TJD. Had TJD not been there, the defense would have played a bit different...but it all starts in how you defend TJD and what are you willing to give up. Personally, I think the mid-range game (which JHS made a killing against Purdue) is the soft spot a lot of teams give up and you wonder with it being soft...is it as effective now since players have seen it for a while and know it will be there.Ask Braden Smith how good JHS was 😎 and then NBA GM’s. Yep. Plus if you play the same drop coverage every time, you allow the player to get into a rhythm. Which JHS clearly did.Personally, I think the mid-range game (which JHS made a killing against Purdue) is the soft spot a lot of teams give up and you wonder with it being soft...is it as effective now since players have seen it for a while and know it will be there.
