Could be 1000% wrong but I’d imagine we lose 10-15k in current season ticket sales. Some probably offset by a few newbies, some offset by cheap package sales to opposing fans. Call it 12k in attendance we fall short in next year. That’s 84k unsold seats at say an average of $50 a pop. That’s $4.2million just in tickets. Tickets that don’t get an associated donation, concessions or parking fee. Call that another $2-3mil in lost revenue.By retaining Walters, do you think Purdue will sell more, less or the same number of season tix next year? Do you think they'll get more, less or the same $ into the collective for NIL?
I'm actually starting to believe that with Bobo's contract up next year, that he retires and this hire becomes someone elses problem.
At that point the lost revenue pays for Walters buyout and a decent increase to the next coach.
Doesn’t take a business master to know that keeping Walters hurts the wallet next year.
But agree…they want a new AD and to have the new one hire the coach just like they did with Mbob. Making a “business” decision here but not really protecting the business…just some guys arbitrary timeline to leave.
