Nag has obviously been missing. We know he had a battle with the C word

He is on the national board. Seen a few postings from him. He must of tired of the abuse we gave him here. Too bad. He did a good job scouting each game and posting stats.
The same thing happened to him on OGFP.

Could have went to premium board . Once somebody does they are done here. Except Boilerz whom is a great poster

Obviously we don’t want to be caught slumming with the “Freebies”. That’s what we call you on the other side of the paywall

Yeah yea lol.....I was a knucklehead for years. It's definitely got it's purpose, but not enough of the premium info pans out just my opinion. With the wake of twitter and social media it's everywhere moments after and sometimes before.

does he go by a different name on that board? last post i find there is from july.

(had activity on this board last month. /end stalking)

nags kept the old j&c board going almost single handed, even back in the bad seasons. : )

You are wrong... Its the best $99 I've spent this year. Who has time to twitter and social media when its all in one place. For those on the fence, Brian's reports and the rest of the team are excellent. I regret all the years I didn't join... Go Boilers.

I used to be a member as well, but am with jadeezra on this. it takes very little time to google/read twitter on things and for me, it just wasn't worth the cost for things that come out anyway and in very short order. Often I have found things on other sites (and before H&R) before this one but that isn't always the case.

There is no "right' or "wrong" answer in this. If you find value in it, great! But others might not see it the same way you do which is okay as well. I've been coming to this site long before it was GBI (I still have my coffee mug) and while it certainly has changed over the years, it's still a good site that I hope has lots of success for years to come.

Back on topic, I hope Nag is doing well. He and I don't see eye to eye on things but I always respected him as a poster. If he chose to move on to another site because of the grief he takes on here, it wouldn't surprise me. This forum and some that post here most certainly can be a bit ... cantankerous.... from time to time when it comes to opposing views.

I probably have many original GBI papers in the early 90s or so and quit subscribing. Do you find more "knowledgeable" posters on actual basketball there or just recruiting and such?

I have been wondering about him also. Perhaps Pusch or PurdueFanIan know? I remember meeting all of them at a tailgate several years ago.

It depends. As someone mentioned, Brian does great work and has a pulse on all things Purdue basketball.

Can you find this info while searching on Twitter and/or Google? Sure but it is time consuming and you need to know who to follow.

so would you say it is insight into recruiting or insight into what Matt is wanting from different players, player development and such? Both would be interesting...

Both. I prefer the recruiting insight. A lot of stuff you find for free rarely mentions Purdue but Brian talks to a lot of the recruiting targets.

It seems most of the posters there are football related. For basketball, the free site is better for posting / getting insights from smart guys like you (not Nag who I DON'T miss one bit and not sure anyone else does either). I pay for the inside info and I'm not going to spend the time to try and find online elsewhere. I held off for many many years saying "its not worth it...". However, I was way wrong. I'm so glad I joined. The near daily inside scoop reports to me are priceless. In general the posters over there are all diehards and very few negative nellies. It would be much better with about 5-10 of the really good free site posters that I'll leave nameless, of which you are one of. :)

i was a premium member for a few years and loved it. i was suppose to renew the day swanigan declared for MSU. out of frustration i didn't renew immediately. he then decommitted, chose the boilers, purdue fired hazell, purdue won the big ten, purdue hired brohm and purdue is a top 25 team in basketball. i have decided i was the problem with the boilers and will not be renewing.

That was very kind of you..whether deserved or not. I love Purdue and I love basketball and football..and thinking next year I'll get to some baseball as well. I may join, since I do miss the recruiting insight. I know I need to spend some time on Mr Hoops since I was one of the very first when Brad and Bob put the site together..and I haven't contributed much lately. Bob didn't want to sell out to GBI as he wanted a free site and so I need to be active there as well. I think there is a special up through the 20th...and so I might just join. Thank you for the kind words and thei insight into the premium site.

He used to post on 'Old Gold Free Press' (Mr Hoops) a few years ago, then disappeared from there.

does anyone have personal info to state all is still well with Nag?

I'm doing okay. I was in the hospital for nearly a month, but getting better. I had a tumor in my neck region, which hindered my ability to walk, but I'm getting better through physical and occupational therapy. I've had other, lesser complications as well.

I just believe that I was too invested in the success of the program. I want to be excited but just cannot truly envision the programs postseason success improving much under the current regime. Thanks for looking out for me

Good to have you back. Hope you progress toward good health quickly.

Glad to have you back NAG. the Mr. Hoops reference brings back some old memories. Now that NAG is back, Would you guys like to post what your Mr Hoops handles were ? We may have argued with each other before !

I have midterm memory loss ... so, I can't remember my moniker there.

Compared to you, I'm a newcomer (4 years) to this site. I've enjoyed your knowledge of and passion for Purdue basketball, whether I've agreed with your views or not.

To me, we're like family here. Love and best wishes to you, friend.

I was living in Illinois at the time, so it was probably a reference to that. Maybe ChamBoiler?

Glad you're doing well, Nag. Always enjoyed your passion for Purdue bball.

Well, in spite of disagreements people have here...we are all brothers of the cloth and you were missed...
