He seems like a mix of CE and Ivey. That's the kind of firepower/gritty player this team needs to wake up.
He is an above average ball handler especially in traffic. My only concerns are his age and the fans unrealistic expectations. He reclassified up a year. While he has all the physical abilities and is a smart player IMO he will need to mature. Give him time to adjust before we raise expectations to an unrealistic level. It’s all good he can dunk, main thing is can he handle ball and take it to the rim to dunk.

Strong at the 5, pretty good at the 1, need to improve at the 2-4. Hopefully both can contribute to that.It seems we will have 2 of these guys join our roster next year. Seems Heide and Colvin will add a good dynamic to this team.
good post 52, some on here come down pretty hard on the Frosh who were pretty good, while we have a couple on the team that have been in the system for 4 yrs producing lessHe is an above average ball handler especially in traffic. Expectations to an unrealistic level.....no, not this group. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 it's FF next year or bust.....He is an above average ball handler especially in traffic. .....ga ga.....is that code ?Dunks mean he has some athletic ability, which is good. But let's seem him play in college before we get all ga ga.
part of a Queen song.....ga ga.....is that code ?
Hopefully CMP sees the value in bringing this big time talent along slowly as he's ready and as a cog in what can be a very good team. Never needing to dominate, by years end he could be superb X factor.Hopefully, CMP sees the value in his athletism and power that his team desperately needs..... and lets him use it, without pulling him after the first dumb TO, or missed defensive assignment. Then maybe.... by year's end he will be ready to dominate, instead of playing scared afraid he will get taken out.

Sure, but it is still great to see that he has a level of athleticism that can’t be taught. With Ivey being the obvious exception, it’s hard to think of former Boilers under Painter with that kind of explosiveness. It’s all good he can dunk, main thing is can he handle ball and take it to the rim to dunk.
Is there another player Matt has screwed up that you are fearful Myles would end up like?I'm not usually into dunks, but all 3 of these dunks are extremely impressive. I don't think the video does them justice with the altered speed. I'm more excited about his explosiveness than the dunks per se, because his power/explosiveness should translate in other ways on the court.
1st dunk. I've seen the between the legs, but I'm not sure I've seen someone dribble pass and then one hand catch straight up to the dunk.
2nd dunk. elbow jam ala Vince. this young man has the hops and explosiveness unlike any Purdue guard (except Ivey) in my lifetime and I've been watching since the early 90s.
3rd dunk. another one hand catch but this time spinning 360.
I think even more impressive than these amazing dunks (which are very impressive on their own) is how good his hands are. great smoothness and soft hands on the catch, strong hands for the finish.
I know fans are waiting to see him play against D1 players before making assessments, but he has tools no guard on our current roster has. With his explosiveness, he has the potential to be a great defender and he can't be a worse shooter than others on the squad. I don't see why he wouldn't be a starter or first off the bench next year.
Painter better not screw this young man up.
None I can think of…Sure, but it is still great to see that he has a level of athleticism that can’t be taught. With Ivey being the obvious exception, it’s hard to think of former Boilers under Painter with that kind of explosiveness.
Did you get this from seeing him play or just the dunks?I'm not usually into dunks, but all 3 of these dunks are extremely impressive. Kelsey Barlow and Jacob Lawson come to mind.Sure, but it is still great to see that he has a level of athleticism that can’t be taught. With Ivey being the obvious exception, it’s hard to think of former Boilers under Painter with that kind of explosiveness.

I thought of Lawson, but just not enough examples in my mind to list him. Kelsey was great, but I would still put him relative to "jumping" behind Myles. Kelsey was a good athlete as far as quickness with his feet...maybe better than Myles...I don't know. Still, you listed a couple of athletes...Kelsey Barlow and Jacob Lawson come to mind.
Going back a few years their was Arnett Hallman. I mean a few decades.I thought of Lawson, but just not enough examples in my mind to list him. Our 1980 F4 had JBC but Hallman was key too. Foes got by Joe Barry to the hoop and Hallman would swat their shots into Row 3.Going back a few years their was Arnett Hallman. I mean a few decades.
The qualifier was playing for Matt.Going back a few years their was Arnett Hallman. I mean a few decades.
If we are talking strictly about dunking, Justin Jennings did very well in at least one national contest. In the mid 90’s Keady also had Herb Dove and of course, the Big Dog.Going back a few years their was Arnett Hallman. I mean a few decades.
I don't think so, I think we have different views of what makes a good Team.I think we are relatively saying the same thing.
Yes I hope bringing him along keeps his confidence to the max as he is coached up to B10 ball. He could be a star at Purdue IF his instincts and athletism are allowed to flourish.
Herb may be there with Myles, but I give Myles a smidgeon more jumping than Big Dog...no much, but very little due to Big Dog being a bit taller and similar vertical...If we are talking strictly about dunking, Justin Jennings did very well in at least one national contest. I know, just had to throw that in about someone sky walking. I’ll take a seat now.The qualifier was playing for Matt.
Anyone remember Jovon Price, RIP 2019, from the early '70s? World's worst FT (and outside, in general) shooter, but at 6'6" with spider arms a great defender who could sky with the best of them. Too bad no dunking then.I know, just had to throw that in about someone sky walking. I’ll take a seat now.
There was a Juco ( name?) guy under Keady in early 2000's who came in as a high flyer. First game against a team with seven footers got his dunks blocked a couple times and that was that except in open court. He was a decent player, but not up to expectations of fans who saw his dunks same with Barlow.I thought of Lawson, but just not enough examples in my mind to list him. Kelsey was great, but I would still put him relative to "jumping" behind Myles. Kelsey was a good athlete as far as quickness with his feet...maybe better than Myles...I don't know. I think you may be referring to Greg Mcquay. There was a Juco ( name?) guy under Keady in early 2000's who came in as a high flyer.
