I want the bucket game to mean more than State pride....I want it to be bowl positioning...
I would think the new football facility will bring a decent coach....

So, buckle up and see where the ride takes you.

To show how irrelevant this rivalry has been, there have only been 2 football seasons ever (if my count is correct) that resulted in both Purdue and Indiana going bowling. 1979 and 2007. That pretty much means that one program has almost always been in the tank over the last 50 years. Pretty pathetic.

And that reinforces the point I've been making...our first priority needs to be beating IU for recruits in IN. We can't both be good programs. Our success requires IU to regress back to their mean.

Unless we can both use our newfound TV riches towards facilities and recruiting budgets that will allow us to go pirate recruits out of areas that we haven't had as much access to in the past. But that seems pretty unlikely, and I'm on the record as agreeing with your point.

Okay....I hear that on tv from the Purdue students chant each kickoff...

I was being nice.....so if IU sucks, where does that put Purdue the last four years?
Purdue owns iu. The hoosiers will be playing catch up for the rest of my time on earth.

Four years will almost never have weight in the scheme of things. I will be on my deathbed in 70 years and IU will still have not caught up to Purdue in bucket wins...and even in my misery I will be chuckling at the history of the IU football program
