I live in Dallas, Texas. My 7th grade daughter wore a Purdue t-shirt to her middle school the day after Purdue beat Texas the night before in March Madness in a hotly contested game.

While in gym, the coach saw her t-shirt and said 'Boilermakers suck'. My daughter told me tonight and I am pissed in so many levels - bullying by a teacher, should not use the word ‘suck’ targeting a student, prohibiting the freedom of expression via clothing, the insensitivity of verbal reaction freely articulated by an educator, the promotion of cancel culture and more. The direct attack on Purdue is the least of my concerns.

Am I overreacting? I am pissed regardless.

Posing the question to my Purdue brothers and sisters here, has your child/children been berated by an IU school teacher? and if so, what did you do about it?
