Muffet retires

Odd timing for her to go out professionally coming off the horrible season they had by their recent standards. Probably some personal reasons involved.

I realize that and was just making the point that she was a very logical choice given the situation...glad Purdue got Ivey when they did.

Apparently it was a succession plan all along.
Muffet always said she wouldn’t be coaching at 70 and she’s 65.

If it was genuinely a succession plan, Ivey would not have left...a succession plan would have made sense, but, just as you note...she still had 5 more years to coach potentially.

Purdue/Keady/Painter was a succession plan...McGraw retiring unexpectedly during a pandemic after an embarrassing season and Ivey coming back less than a year after she left is not a succession plan...regardless of what she or anyone at ND try to suggest.

She appeared to be close to a nervous breakdown at some of her late season news conferences this last year. I am not completely shocked.
