MSU-Purdue grudge match on a neutral court

Let's get straight to the point! There is bad blood between these two basketball programs. We (MSU) don't like the Purdue basketball program and I'm sure there are a lot of Purdue fans who don't like the MSU basketball program and Tom Izzo. Let's not sugar coat it folks! There is a history of trash talking between the two schools accusing each other of recruiting improprieties.

Do I respect this current Purdue basketball squad? Yes I do! Do I like them? No I do not! Not one bit. Purdue has a very good basketball team this year, but I'm afraid they are going to run into a very hungry, B1G tourney title driven squad led by Denzel Valentine. The fact that the game is being played on a neutral court bodes well for MSU.

There will be no home cooking as far as officiating is concerned (illegal screen by A.J. Hammons on the Valentine foul to end the game the first time both teams met)
I also do not expect Rapheal Davis to save Purdue & go crazy again from 3 point range in tomorrow's game. It will be another bruising B1G game. This is going to be a game for men, not the meek. When the dust settles, expect MSU to make more clutch plays and pull away with the victory.

It has been a very good season for Purdue, but the buck stops here against MSU in the B1G tournament championship game. Izzo and company will find a way to dig deep and win tomorrow. Get your popcorn and favorite beverage ready, because it's Showtime folks!!

Uh. Were you a drama major or something?

To be fair, "us" Spartan fans could give a rats ass about Purdue athletics. Good luck tomorrow, regardless. Ya'll have had a good year.

Damn dude, you didn't have to type that whole thing out..........you could've just said that you were a dickhead, and left it at that

I assume Izzo is already dripping tears all over his victory speech he's preparing for tomorrow, but with all due respect...screw the little whiner!

Crap! You guys get a Big Ten title if you win!? I wish we had that kind of motivation!

BTW, congrats on fielding a team this year without any scandals that didn't get covered up properly (or at least haven't made it public yet). Maybe Desperate Tom and Gonzo can go get you that second title that he sold his soul for.

Spartan fan here. I have a question: why does Purdue hate MSU so much?? I always thought relations were good when Gene was here.
Can't speak for others and only hear rumors. Heathcoate was very respected by Purdue and Gene. Izzo came in and said he wanted to model MSU after Purdue as far as playing hard...and keep Heathcoates offense...or something similar. People talk about Izzo whining, but nobody was as bad as Gary Williams when he was at Ohio State. I think some think Izzo has covered up some things for his players as well. Still, it probably has as much to do with Dawson as anyone. I hate it, not MSU for recruiting so well in Indiana and Izzo and Matta get the press because they are good coaches, with great talent. The media sells them and recruits buy it. No, not sure what or why other than recruits like Dawson and what has appeared to be cover ups for players that some Purdue fans hate MSU. Other than seeing Gary Harris at MSU, my worst memory was another rape back in 1990 when Stevens was about 1/5 the size he is now it appears sitting on the bench I just want to beat them and hope Valentine doesn't get special protection

scroll until about 1:59 or so with 30 seconds left... :)

As Tom has gotten older the pressure to keep winning has gotten the better of him....and his ethics.

I think he realized about a decade ago that if he doesn't win a second title he will go down as the Bobby Cox of college basketball. He wants to be remembered as one of the top coaches ever and not be in the second tier and he has done some questionable things in an attempt to get there. I honestly couldn't care less if he cheats in recruiting or not but the fact that Appling and Payne suited up for even one game, let alone four years, is an absolute joke. I think eventually the truth will come out about Desperate Tom and he will be remembered more like Joe Paterno than anything else.

The people on this board who hate msu can be traced back to the brandon dawson recruitment and izzo and the msu administration covering up some kind of rape allegation or something like that. Oh and I guess the fact that izzo looks like he is about to burst into an epic crying scene about every bad call might qualify as another reason.

I really hated you guys when Harris and Dawson were there but now that they left I really don't care one way or the other for msu. You guys are just a road block for our title tomorrow. Thats it. But my hate level for opponents has dropped as of late too. I'm more worried about our Boilers rather than the exploits of others. Hell I don't even hate iu anymore. They are just an obstacle in the way of my team. With that being said, the iu game is still the most important on the reg season schedule b/c you want to try to own your state.

Anyway no animosity from me. Just looking for a title tomorrow! BTFU!

Have a lot of respect for Matt...plays hard and gives it his all!

Gene and Judd had mutual respect for each other. Tom seems slimy to most of us, especially when you consider that his players don't seem to get any punishment for being criminals.

Just my $0.02 but...

It seems to me that this whole MSU-Purdue mutual antagonism thing is getting kind of old.

Time and time again Izzo preps the referees, insults them, intimidates them, and flat-out owns them. He learned this from the grand bully himself (bobby knight) from growing up watching Bobby coach. It is the most absurd thing in the world for a little fellow like him to do this, (it's actually kind of funny until it starts affected the outcome). If little man would just sit down for awhile and let things happen as they may, we might get a fair shake.

Izzo will be dropping F bombs before the 1st TV timeout. Then he'll be "aw shucks" when interviewed at halftime and after the game. Two faced little bastard. I'm sick of the media fawning over him and making him into something he isn't, a decent human being.

Other than that, I have no problems with the little punk.

Purdue is never relevant in either sport. That OP doesn't speak for all MSU fans

lol run along little guy. We were relevant when you guys had Saban at the helm and we've been relevant in basketball too.

You sir, win the 'Internet Douche Bag of the day" award. Congrats!

Why do I dislike M$U?
1) Have you ever been to E Lansing. It's one very small step above Flint and about even with Detroit, which are both $hitholes.
2) Izzo covers up legally for his players. There are several well document legal issues with msu players that were swept under the rug.
3) Izzo is a dirty recruiter.
4) I worked with a guy who went to M$U, and I can honestly say, that I've never worked with a bigger dickhead in my professional career.

Bonefish1, my M$U dickhead has to be bigger than yours. You don't suppose there are more than one do you? Seriously, I'm sure there are some good people from M$U, they just don't frequent the forums and obviously work away from you and I bonefish1

So relevant that Purdue hasn't made it to the final four in over 3 decades...

That data shows that M$U does well when they have hand picked opponents and places, but doesn't do as well historically when playing the same competition as Purdue...although M$U can claim they are doing better than Purdue recently. Being the new kid on the block of success is true.

Good video tjreese,

A couple thoughts on it:

1) That offense looks familiar!

2) Just think how good our half court offense could be with these bigs and the 45 second shot clock from back then!

Purdue has 2 final fours...Please stop acting like they are a basketball power...

Claim? What part of no final fours since before you were probably born don't you understand...

Yea Izzo gets to hand pick his bracket every year in the NCAA tourney....Damn you are deluded..
