How we feeling Boilers? I cannot say I am very optimistic now going into this week, after going a very surprising to me, 0 for 2 last week. Are our Boilers catching either team at the right time, to get a W or 2? I want to believe they can, but I just don’t know if we can get the needed winning efforts AND execution for 40 minutes.

Compared to Wisconsin, who killed us in the ball movement game, Michigan State doesn't play like that this year. Yeah their guards are the focus, but the play more 1-on-1 than they historically do. Therefore I think this game will be vastly different for us on the defensive end. I don't have a line out yet, but I'm guessing MSU -3.5.

Strangely, I'm more worried about the Indinia game.

I feel like we can rebound and go into Brealin and get a W. I think we can out score them and they may have a slight let down after escaping OSU and seeing us lose twice. I can see IU going two ways… we can go in and dominate since we didn’t the first meeting or they come away with a close win. I’m going with the optimistic prediction of pulling off two W’s this week.

I think you're confusing MSU and UM. UM just escaped OSU. MSU whipped Illinois on the road.

The ambush in Happy Valley and the late, disappointing collapse in Ann Arbor loom huge now, but redemption is at hand, if Purdue plays with some “crazed poise” this week.

Paging Caleb , Fletcher, Cam, and Myles: your time to step up has come.

Im excited to see how the team responds. The offense is still elite. Hope that Colvin can be ole miss colvin and Heide can be rutgers game from last year Heide offensively. They both have the talent to stay in front of guards. Really hope that Colvin can take some of Loyers minutes especially when the other team has a talented 2/3.

I think MSU will be a win and IU a loss.

Yes, I’m aware of their win and I did mess that up referencing OSU vs Michigan. I still think that their win against the Illini could play into a letdown next game at home especially since we lost two in a row.

This team is too good to just fold up and go away quietly. Smith and TKR and gonna take these games personally and I expect them both to play extremely well - especially Smith. Tuesday is possibly the biggest game of the year for us to stop the bleeding and get some momentum back. I’m expecting we go 2-0 and get back into the Big Ten race.

Big Ten race may be out of our hands, I just want to see defensive effort and smarts on offense.

Slump is real now. We need to get our shooting touch back and our confidence. Probably going to catch hell for this but here it goes: Telling our guys after the Wisconsin loss that Wisconsin was mentally and physically tougher, I think was the wrong approach. It's not like our guys didn't already feel like crap for losing at home. I like Painter and all but sometimes he is still a little off. We didn't lose to Wisconsin because they were mentally and physically tougher than us. We lost because most of the game it was 5 versus 8 and we also just had a bad shooting night while Wisconsin was shooting with confidence. Smith was 10 points under his average which happened to be the margin of victory for Wisconsin. Not blaming Smith for the loss by any means (we wouldn't have the success we have had if not for him), but if someone doesn't step up to compensate for those 10 points it isn't going to end well. Wisconsin was/is just a tough matchup for us currently. No need to label the loss as some sort of inferiority to the opponent. Look ahead and be done with it.

Well, there were some obvious fouls that were not called and questionable ones that were. Has Caleb ever fouled out of a game before? Idk, for a home game I thought the officiating was strangely in Wisconsin's favor. But whatever. I just want to see things start to go our way and see us playing like we did when we demolished Michigan on our home floor. Where did that team go?
