More Proof Morgan Burke is High and Hazell is His Dealer

“It will be kind of fun to see whether I’m right or if some of the pundits are right,” Burke told ESPN.com, “but I’m confident in Darrell.”

Really Morgan? It'll be fun to see if you are right or the pundits are right? Could you be any more egotistical in your approach to how the decisions have been made lately? You are simply saying you would rather Purdue tank again for the next two years just so you can attempt to 'show' everyone that you were right about Hazell if he can get to 6 wins...which isn't that big of an accomplishment at this point in college football considering IU did it this past year.

"Some of the pundits".. haha.. is that this month's term for those "certain fragments" who don't see the amazing progress and potential.

He isnt going to get to make that choice.
Correct. Which is why it was such a dumb thing to say anyway. I mean, if he truly believed it and wanted to put his own neck on the line, he'd negotiate an extension with DH right now. He just stated the president and Board chair are in agreement with him on DH being the future, so why not extend now then to prevent any potential damage on recruiting? Hell, if he's right, now would be exactly the time to do it because DH would likely extend for less money now than he would command in 2 years if he truly did do the amazing and turned things around.

If MB called his agent tomorrow and offered to add on 3-4 extra years at the same rate as today (likely even less than today), the agent's first thought would be " are you serious, Clark?". And you know Hazell would sign it, because it's the smart play to lock-in while you can given the distinct possibility his name might not ever be anywhere close to the top of another team's short list again if things stay the way they are and he gets canned. All in all, it's just a dipsh*t statement from Burke because it's so CLEARLY false, otherwise he'd have pursued it already!

Dumbest thing he's said since "lineman aren't rated high."

And how is the echo chamber known as Ross Ade stadium going to be "fun" in any way, shape or form this fall?
the thing about this current regime is that there hasn't been any progress made, I really like Mike Leach as a coach, have been following his tenure at Wazzou, arguably a harder place to recruit at than Purdue, and his rec ord there has shown a steady improvement. Same goes or Sonny Dykes at Cal.

I know Mitch and will guarantee you that he is not sitting in his office contemplating bringing Hazell back unless he makes a bowl this year. Mitch needs donations pouring in and with the new projects he needs a bunch. A last place losing football program isn't the way to do it.

Folks, they weren't going to let Burke make this decision. That is why the ad announcement came out when it did. If the new ad is in place by august( which I would bet he/she) is, hazell has a season to prove himself. I don't think he gets a fifth barring a miracle

Burkett quotes are spin. Don't take the bait

Leach was my pick three years ago - he's done a fabulous job as WSU. But that ship has passed - or could we steal him after Hazell gets cut loose after this season?

Didn't you read the article? Darrell is the man! And he loves him some succession plan.

After reading that, can I think MB is an ass?

I'm not so sure Burke's quotes are spin, I truly believe he thinks he is right about Hazell succeeding. Sad part is his beliefs have cratered our program.
