It seems that a highly recruited Juco running back is leaving the program asap. Frost's rebuild is taking longer than expected. Unhappiness in Lincoln? Story found at ESPN.

When a team isn't winning, a coach changes players and/or what team is doing. Frost made change on running back, and the stats did improve on running game. Can't blame the coach . What happens on field is what matters, not what a player thinks.

Lankford-Johnson transferred from Purdue last year.....so we are in disarray?

The difference is that Purdue's coach did not throw his team under the bus. Frost has done so to his.

Hunter Johnson also transferred. Do you blame the Clemson coach?

Alstott transferred. I guess that was the sign of the end for Purdue football

The RB inquestion was highly recruited. Alstott was not. Johmson is a different case. He was very, very highly recruited. Clemson recruited over him; not quite analogous to the Nebraska matter.

I hope that you are feeling well.

If I was feeling bad, I would not be so argumentative or sarcastic. I've still got 8 weeks of bed rest ahead! The doctor says I'm ahead of progress. Just wait until 1 December!

My thoughts on this are mixed. Purdue signed some very highly hyped juco players as well named Zico and Wright and that DB. They also signed that 4* WR transfer from ND. All 4 of those players were heavily recruited. In my opinion, none of those 4 players has come close to their hype.

So when you say a highly ranked Juco is leaving Nebraska, I have to wonder how great he actually was. And why is he leaving? He's leaving because he got beat out and was benched and their offense improved.

He didn't go to Nebraska to get an education . He went there to showcase his running ability. And after getting benched, rather than trying to improve his game, he quits and wants to transfer. And I guarantee he doesn't want to transfer for a better academic program or to be a backup. He wants to start and run the ball, and is probably a terrible pass blocker. Nebraska proved they were better without him.

I feel the same way about the Clemson QB who quit this year after 4 games. After losing his starting role, he quit and doesn't even want to be a backup or injury replacement.

And then I look at Purdue . Sparks could have transferred but chose to stay. Blough and Sindelar could have transferred after losing their starting status, but chose to stay! They are team players. On the other hand, guys like George and Etlon left. They loved themselves rather than the team.

Corey Holmes was not close to being our number two receiver. Who was “that dB”

Yes it was Jallow!
Academics aside, he was supposed to be the greatest Juco DB since sliced cheese. He never came close to his billing. Didn't we also have a juco olineman from California who turned out to also be mediocre?

This is what makes me wonder how much of the hype of juco players is real and how much is just hype

All of those players arrived with a lot of hype. It would be nice if Wright and Zico came close to the hype they arrived with.

TJ Jallow? Flunked out

Well yeah, but your second running back can get a lot of carries without it having to mean you don’t like your other backs. Jallow was what the fourth safety... he didn’t fail to get a 4th and 1 to have Brohm single him out. He blew coverages like he walks Madison street at 4 am..

Jallow was terrible. But when he committed, you could not believe the hype and praise he received. When he signed, many people penciled him in as an immediate starter and impact player. It never happened.

This is what makes me very sceptical when somebody says a juco player is a tremendous player.
