Has Donoven McCulley transferred out yet? If not, I would expect that to happen now.

Unfortunately, he sounds pretty competent. I hope his effectiveness is reduced by the malaise that is IU football.
What happened to his starting status? Did he get injured or just get demoted?

Allen will help stop that development.

Also, maybe IU will hire Urban Meyer as their OC, and he can work his magic on what he did with Jacksonville and Lawrence this year.

Here's an interesting article with analysis from the Mizzou perspective (it was before he entered the portal).

From the article: One of the biggest issues you’ll see when you watch Bazelak is that he seems to be slow with the trigger. What I mean by that is he’ll see something open, but there are times when he doesn’t trust what he’s seeing and he ends up waiting too long.

Also: Let’s talk about pressure. And I’m not talking about the urgency Mizzou is feeling to start racking up some wins at the end of this season. I’m talking about the pass rush that’s been bothering Bazelak.

So, his solution is to go to a program struggling to protect the QB. That's weapons-grade genius, right there.

🤷‍♂️

Coming out of HS he was a (low) 4-star player, with non of those essential enviable offers, other than BC.

On the bright side, it looks like he's from Dayton, OH, so he'll be a bit closer to family.

Good luck, kid. You'll need it.

I saw a photo of him playing and he already wears a major knee brace.

They can bring in whoever they choose and LEO Tommy will screw it up as usual.

Sounds like his issues are a little like Jack Plummer's

I wouldn't say those were Jack Plummer's issues at all. He was decent at escaping pressure and he tended to hit the easier targets when he didn't trust his instinct, not necessarily slow to throw. He rarely threw picks because he avoided the tough throws. In fact about 4 games in I would use all that to describe AO instead.

He was in Mizzou’s dumpster for a reason . . . he was beaten out in advance of the bowl game and knew he’d lost his spot for next year. IU did yet another dive, something the RevCoach LEO realizes is his only choice. He’ll be running for his life behind that stellar O line and with little offensive talent.

Pretty good chance he’s not the last coach leaving LEOLand. MH knew where this was headed a few years ago when he went south.
These asst coaches have little loyalty. I wouldn't expect them to. They want HC salaries. They migrate to the schools that pay them better and offer a better opportunity to become a HC.

The veterans have a much better understanding of which coaches will last and which will not. MH knows this well, which is why he couldn’t wait to get away from RevCoach LEO (and MH is an IU graduate). He knows a problem when he sees it. It’s why he said no to Cameron and yes to JT.

RevCoach LEO has at least 3 more years when his buyout drops 50%.

Well his new DC just left for UNC

That’s a bad thing, he was awful. Good recruiter, but awful play caller
Iu although losing 2 of their top 3 defenders are returning a decent amount of seniors next year and picked up some good transfers. Wonder if this will cause another wave of defections.

Might be a bit late for that. Second semester starts soon and I think only 450 of 1,000+ kids in the portal have found a new home.

Unless they have a surefire place to go, they might be better off waiting for the summer portal to open

Both DC and D-line coach...yikes! and an O-Line that needs help. If he goes another 2fer he'll be out.
And they already had to replace their OC yet again - the 4th one of those going into the RevCoach LEO’s 6th season. His inexperience combined with a lack of college contacts is really showing up in his many failed hirings, and now coaches are getting there and quickly realizing they don’t want to be a part of his program. Not the kind of off season that will do much to move them out of the “worst program in the BiG” category. Recruiting classes will start to deteriorate with all of this instability, too.
