Mitch and Amazon

I do like what the current Governor is doing...roads, infrastructure, etc., but wonder if Mitch had been in power would we have had a better shot at landing the new HQ's.

Or was it a total ruse on Amazon's part knowing they were going to feather the nests of their liberal buddies in NY and Va?

Personally, I though Indianapolis lost out when Hogsett gave the old airport terminal to another company.

This wasn’t about liberal buddies in NYC and DC/VA. This was about being in close proximity to the economic and political capitals of the United States. That’s where all the money, talent, and government contracts are.

Indianapolis had absolutely no shot at this from the very beginning. None of the cities that put in bids outside of the two selected did. It’s not about “liberal buddies”, it’s about making money, and NYC and DC/VA simply have better infrastructure to facilitate money making than Indianapolis does.

This is why you don’t see corporations, especially those that require world class talent, fleeing in droves to places like Kansas despite their best attempts to make a “business friendly” atmosphere.
