Minny Rutgers finish

Courtney Green is a JOKE. It's so clear he wants to be part of the story in nearly every game. What if that clock had not started at the exact moment Minny touched the ball? Was he going to breakout his stop watch and determine if the shot really beat the buzzer? Killed the celebration of what should have been a career highlight for that kid too. IMO that review was 100% unnecessary. Maybe to make sure the clock started reasonably on time and it was SO obvious immediately that it did so why review for another 15 minutes? lolol

It was absolutely ridiculous especially since the clock showed that he clearly got the shot off.
yeah, the announcers kept saying they were checking on when the clock started - but that seemed pretty plain also... (and I'm not sure it should have effected the outcome in any case since he shot it based on what the clock said)

That was my question. How could they take the points off even if they started it a second or two late. They didn't blow it dead and that was the shot clock the player used.

They can do that.

But it didn't start early. The clock was run perfectly. Why it took that long is beyond me.

Had a similar reaction initially.....then I had an epiphany, and it all made sense to me.......

Yep - at least twice with the shot clock being wrong that I can recall off the top of my head.

That is the most frustrating, the refs don't catch that the shot clock didn't start on time, the players are running a play based off of a wrong shot clock and then Purdue lost the ball and points. It was a 5-point swing in a game where your team does nothing wrong. Such a horrible rule.

They have taken a couple of possessions away from us this year when the shot clock wasn't right and they used a stopwatch to determine where it should have been. Painter has said he thinks the rule will change next year, as it penalizes the offense relying on the shot clock.

At the very least - it should be an alternating possession issue, and if it stays with the same team in possession, have the shot clock reset to 20.

Between that and some questionable goal tending calls, we’ve gotten hosed in some very tangible ways this year.

It was totally ridiculous!! The couple initial replays of different clocks showed it started upon first touch and that Battle got the shot off well in time. Should have been confirmed and game over after 1-2 minutes of review. Nope!!
Green, Sczelk and the other dude were soaking up all the attention. Even BT Refs Supervisor, Weimer was there. Just terrible they were looking for any way they could to give that game to Rutgers.
