That are the one team we don't match up well against. There big man will stand out at the three-point line take our bigs away from hoop
You couldn't have said it better... This is the year we stop this type of s*&t... A great dry run for the Big Dance...They are jacked up. Of course we play the hot team, with practice jerseys, after a near death experience. Only at Purdue.

I would like to see how well they do if he doesn't have the ball much. his effect is much less than Yogi's but still very important for thamDWJ is what makes MICH go....put the hammer on him as much as possible.
I'm sure that Michigan is anticipating that, and they will have DJ Wilson taking biggie and Issac out to the perimeter and driving on them and shooting threes. We just have to hope that he's not on, and pound it inside on the other end to get both of them in foul trouble.Actually he had 3 points in the 2nd half with Vince guarding him
Expect that matchup to start-and they won't be nearly as hot from 3 either.

I expect us to win. We are better. It's just a bad matchup for us, but I'm not going to panic if we lose. Quite frankly, I don't expect us to win.

About not expecting us to win? No. About our bigs getting taken to perimeter by DJ Wilson? No.Is this a joke?
If the refs actually blow their freaking whistles when Haas gets hacked, this will indeed happen JDB.Here is what I imagine could and might just happen: Because Wilson is truly a bad match-up against Swanigan and Haas on the interior, that forces Wagner in to guarding them on the interior. My guess is that CMP will want to feed our bigs inside to get Wagner in foul trouble early on. Once Michigan gets to their bench on the frontline, there is a huge dropoff in experience and talent. After Michigan's top 6 players, Mark Donnel gets the most minutes at 13 per game and after that it is Xavier Simpson at 9 minutes. The issue that plays to Purdue's advantage more than anything is getting the opposing team in foul trouble early with our bigs and that simply didn't happen the first game until Wagner in the second half. Based on CMP's usage of analytics and UM's heavy reliance on their starting 5 (4 of the 5 starters average 29.7 minutes per game or more...with Wagner at 24.4), if Purdue can get them in foul trouble....there is simply a bigger drop-off than most other teams and that is where Purdue could see Biggie, Haas, and Vince take this game over.
If it plays out that way, which I am sure is what CMP would like to do, our bigs could easily each have 15+ points in this game and I'm not sure how many teams would beat Purdue if they got 45+ points from those three.
No question that getting the opposing team in foul trouble is a big plus and has been the whole year and the basis for my concern of running up and down the court and firing the ball up just to be running. Purdue needs to take open shots, but does it have to be running up and down the court and shooting in seconds in "iffy" selection without a look inside? Purdue is an inside first team..with little depth inside and those bigs run from baseline to baseline and then battle the pushing going on inside while the guards go from ft line to ft line and typically don't have the same level of physical abuse on the body laying ground to fatigue...and Purdue does have more guard depth..which is another reason to help another step adn bust your a$$ to recover on the perimeter. Here is what I imagine could and might just happen: Because Wilson is truly a bad match-up against Swanigan and Haas on the interior, that forces Wagner in to guarding them on the interior. This is a great example of our offense helping our defense. Ball really needs to go inside EVERY time to get Moe and/or DJ out of the game. I am sure CMP will make that abundantly clear. No question that getting the opposing team in foul trouble is a big plus and has been the whole year and the basis for my concern of running up and down the court and firing the ball up just to be running. And big league.I think Purdue wears them down in the second half. Need biggie to step up yuge
Well we know Purdue needs to add a few drives as well. Michigan will work on defending the post and all that thought Matt made a mistake and too slow to adjust can now see the bookends of Wagner and Wilson at play. This is a very hard team to defend and they have a lot of size to help defend Purdue. Purdue needs the grind, get back to taking good shots...and hope for some wide open threes to help as well.Plus, if there is another miss-match with Edwards (as in the NW game), he can go in the paint too and score. This would also help Biggie and Haas to get open.
Not to blow my own horn, but as I said above, pretty much what I expected.I'm sure that Michigan is anticipating that, and they will have DJ Wilson taking biggie and Issac out to the perimeter and driving on them and shooting threes.
