That are the one team we don't match up well against. There big man will stand out at the three-point line take our bigs away from hoop

They do a few things that give us problems and they did a good job of exploiting those things in the first half on their homecourt a couple weeks ago. We also pose huge issues for them in the paint that we did a very poor job of exploiting in the first matchup for a variety of reasons. I think we'll do a much better job tomorrow.

This is exactly what we want. Meanwhile Biggie, Vincent and Hass will double post down low and draw fouls. We need these 3 to play 85 minutes. Biggie on Irvan, Vincent on Mueller and Haas on Wilson. If so, we win by 25.

Give us fits......Heck, that is what I want a team that challenges us and makes it hard for us. If a championship was easy....anybody would do it...... Like the movie says....its the hard that makes it great.

DWJ is what makes MICH go....put the hammer on him as much as possible.
I would like to see how well they do if he doesn't have the ball much. his effect is much less than Yogi's but still very important for tham

Actually he had 3 points in the 2nd half with Vince guarding him
Expect that matchup to start-and they won't be nearly as hot from 3 either.
I'm sure that Michigan is anticipating that, and they will have DJ Wilson taking biggie and Issac out to the perimeter and driving on them and shooting threes. We just have to hope that he's not on, and pound it inside on the other end to get both of them in foul trouble.

It's just a bad matchup for us, but I'm not going to panic if we lose. Quite frankly, I don't expect us to win.

It was Senior night in Ann Arbor when they played. Michigan wanted to finish with a bang. Purdue had a 1-game advantage in the standings and was lethargic.

I don't think it will happen again. Purdue will be focused tomorrow and Michigan will be trying for a repeat. I don't see an upset happening.

Is this a joke?

Here is what I imagine could and might just happen: Because Wilson is truly a bad match-up against Swanigan and Haas on the interior, that forces Wagner in to guarding them on the interior. My guess is that CMP will want to feed our bigs inside to get Wagner in foul trouble early on. Once Michigan gets to their bench on the frontline, there is a huge dropoff in experience and talent. After Michigan's top 6 players, Mark Donnel gets the most minutes at 13 per game and after that it is Xavier Simpson at 9 minutes. The issue that plays to Purdue's advantage more than anything is getting the opposing team in foul trouble early with our bigs and that simply didn't happen the first game until Wagner in the second half. Based on CMP's usage of analytics and UM's heavy reliance on their starting 5 (4 of the 5 starters average 29.7 minutes per game or more...with Wagner at 24.4), if Purdue can get them in foul trouble....there is simply a bigger drop-off than most other teams and that is where Purdue could see Biggie, Haas, and Vince take this game over.

If it plays out that way, which I am sure is what CMP would like to do, our bigs could easily each have 15+ points in this game and I'm not sure how many teams would beat Purdue if they got 45+ points from those three.

If the refs actually blow their freaking whistles when Haas gets hacked, this will indeed happen JDB.

I like Purdue the more times we play someone. Beilein can only pull so many tricks out of the bag before he has to face the fact he's outgunned. He came up with a great game plan the first game. Credit to him, CMP was slow to adjust, but they will have to find another way to get an advantage this game.

No question that getting the opposing team in foul trouble is a big plus and has been the whole year and the basis for my concern of running up and down the court and firing the ball up just to be running. Purdue needs to take open shots, but does it have to be running up and down the court and shooting in seconds in "iffy" selection without a look inside? Purdue is an inside first team..with little depth inside and those bigs run from baseline to baseline and then battle the pushing going on inside while the guards go from ft line to ft line and typically don't have the same level of physical abuse on the body laying ground to fatigue...and Purdue does have more guard depth..which is another reason to help another step adn bust your a$$ to recover on the perimeter.

Your first comment is probably why Cline has started the last few games and Carsen has not.

This is a great example of our offense helping our defense. Ball really needs to go inside EVERY time to get Moe and/or DJ out of the game. I am sure CMP will make that abundantly clear.

Plus, if there is another miss-match with Edwards (as in the NW game), he can go in the paint too and score. This would also help Biggie and Haas to get open.

Well we know Purdue needs to add a few drives as well. Michigan will work on defending the post and all that thought Matt made a mistake and too slow to adjust can now see the bookends of Wagner and Wilson at play. This is a very hard team to defend and they have a lot of size to help defend Purdue. Purdue needs the grind, get back to taking good shots...and hope for some wide open threes to help as well.

Does Michigan start to wear and does it affect the perimeter shooting? Guards defend away from the ball screens towards the sideline and get the help from Purdue bigs...but secondary rotation...find the balll screener and get a body on him going for the board...not stand in front...get a body!

Beat ourselves with free throws. Michigan played tough but it was a game we win if we shoot over 50% from ft line.

Not to blow my own horn, but as I said above, pretty much what I expected.

And as I also said above, I'm not going to panic.
