I have NOT been paying attention.
From what I can tell - lots of lost recruits.
We seem like we are ranked ok - how will we do this year?
I guess what I'm asking...what's the executive summary and status of men's b-ball?
Keep an eye on freshman, Carsen Edwards. He looked tremendous in Spain and he brings something that Purdue lacked last season.I have NOT been paying attention.

Executive Summary
1. Excellent 2 deep, and at least 3 players on this team who will be playing in the NBA. They will make an appearance in the top 10 this season, and stay in the top 25 all throughout
2. Assuming no injury problems, I expect this team to be better than last season's. D will be weaker but O will be much better.
3. We will go as far into the post-season as our go-to player will bring us.....likely Vince or Swanigan. I'm guessing Vince will get the first shot...and will be the captain. Possible co-captains will be Swanigan and PJ
4. Carsen to have the best freshman season of any guard since Etwaun
5. Recruiting in 2016 will be mediocre because of a lack of playing time, but should be strong in 2017 (or even in spring 2016 with a strong post-season showing)
6. Expectations should be an S16-E8. Anything worse would be underperforming
I think that Swanigan is also key. I think that he has the ability to be an all conference player if he cleans up the mistakes and becomes more efficient, which will make Purdue much tougher to defend. I expect a huge improvement from him.The season really hinges on #4, which is a lot to put on a true freshman. Guard play is absolutely crucial to winning in March, and we don't have guards that can create. Especially with AJH gone, we really need someone who can break a defense down. If CE can do that, we could have a very good year. If not, I see us as a 6-7 seed that wins 0-1 games in the NCAA tourney.

I think that this will be Painter's best offensive team, but Hammons, Davis, and Hill will be missed on D. Overall, I'm really optimistic about this team.
