McCollum...

Purdue has a good front 7....hopefully the DB's pick up their end as well. Front seven might be the best after the big boys at OSU, UM, and PSU.

Won't see another QB like Jackson and a lot more TFL's and sacks will occur with that same kind of effort and ability.

Ohio doesn't throw much as Solich is pretty much run first. I think the front seven controls the game on Friday and forces Ohio to become one dimensional...

McCollum is a stud. He was everywhere. Very deserving for player of the game. He will be a difference maker this season. The defense looked quite solid. Only 28 points to the defending Heisman trophy winner? Only 2 real long sustained drives and the other scores were when offense and special teams put D in bad spot. They can only hold up so much against a good team.

Bentley looked good and in better shape too.

The defensive backs and LBs struggled on the crossing patterns which are difficult to cover by good Dbs, but they also were hurt by the inability of our guys to sack LJ. He ran around making incredible busted plays for yardage downfield. Tough for Dbs to cover those plays. I was very impressed with the DL and LBs though. Those near misses will become sacks on less mobile QBs and the Dbs will look better for it.

Best defense I've seen since Tiller years! Love the defensive coordinator and his intensity.

Don't know how good Louisville's o-line is or isn't but I feel put in similar position against quarterbacks not named Lamar Jackson, we would have had at least 3 sacks.

I would feel better if we got any king of rush from the DEs. Most pressure was off of blitzes. Hoping this was by design to form a firm edge and contain Jackson. TBD.

The defensive strategy was to rush, but not 'over-rush'. In other words, they tried to contain Jackson and keep him in the pocket. With that strategy you're not going to see a defense with DE's crashing from the edge.

And how many QB's are less mobile than him?

ALL OF THEM!
