mayweather pacquiao fight is finally going to happen

Yep. And they course to put it on my damned wedding day.... And I'm marrying a Filipino. So I'm pretty damned irritated that these two old timers are jacking with my shit.

Your tux should have some kind of reference to Mayweather.

...probably not. :D

Geez, it only took these guys, like, a decade to get this together? They're both kinda old now, and I know Pacquiao has lost a couple fights, so some of the "bloom" is off the rose, but I'm sure this will be the biggest fight in years. I'm not a boxing fan, but even I know who these guys are (at least by name, anyway).

Neither of them has knocked anyone out in something like 4 years . . think about that. This fight will not live up to the hype.

Re: It's only 8 years after their primes.*

Folks are still willing to pay a premium. It won't be the fight it could have been, but it should still be a fight worth remembering.

That's what I was thinking and will get together with some friends to all chip in to watch the pay per view on a 10 ft. screen in someone's basement. I heard on the radio yesterday that Pacquiao 'hasn't been the same since he ran into and was dropped by some guy's fist (can't remember the fighter).

Truth is, most analysts feel he hasn't been the same since blasting Hatton into the next zipcode and subsequently getting into politics.

It was Marquez who knocked out Manny a couple of years back. But since then Manny has topped Rios, beat a previously unbeaten Bradley in a re-match (should have beaten Bradly the first time but for a ridiculous score from a questionable judge) and then beat an unbeaten Algieri, knocking him to the canvas six times.

Manny is certainly in better shape than he was for Marquez, but it won't be enough to beat Mayweather, much as I'd like to see it.

I'm not paying jack for it. I've never been a fan of non heavyweights, anyway. I'd rather see two big guys rip each others' heads off.
