I had the pleasure of meeting Maurice this year purely by chance. The evening before mothers day I was finishing up a meal with my family at a Five Guys in Savannah GA. A couple walks in and the gentlemen was wearing a Purdue hat. After they sat down and had some of their food I walked over and introduced myself as a 99 Purdue grad. He said he was a 56 grad and she said she was a 55 grad, and she added "We are old" to which we all chuckled. They were very nice and we had a pleasant conversation mostly about Purdue football because they said they still make it up to WL at least once a year for a game. At the end of the conversation he said he played for Purdue, to which I asked which sport. He responded "basketball, but it was much different when I played". I asked his name. It was Maurice, and I had to google him later that night, because he was WAY before my time. Really happy to meet them, and sad to lose a great Boilermaker. RIP Maurice.
