Maryland loses at Penn State

I think part of it is Maryland's luck is running out some. They've flirted with disaster in so many close games and always seemed to come out on top. 0-2 in 4 days now.

Regression towards mean. Wisconsin next to regress. I bet they lose two in their last eight

Melo looked bad late in the game. The wild head throwing drives are worthless without a foul call.

Penn St did a good job defending the high pick and roll. At least from what I saw. Penn St has some decent athletes that can jump.

Looks like the refs may have taken over the game. 65 free throws in the game, 7 players with 4 fouls.

Big ten teams the game after playing Purdue are 4-7. Early in conference play teams were 3-1. In the last 7 they are 1-6. It's a long grind in the B1G.

Penn St wins and Michigan absolutely rolls. This board think we go to those places in 2 weeks and come away with W's in both better start tempering expectations. Crazy B10 season. Beat IU and hold serve at home next week and win 1 of those 2 on road and feeling pretty good. Win both of those road games and erases BOTH Iowa and Nebraska losses in my mind but not banking.

Any conference road win is a good one this year.

UW going 6-2 to finish isn't a stretch. Analytics predict they will end up with 3 conference losses. The problem is the analytics also predict Purdue to have 2 more losses.

Hey, Hey, Hey......gotta run the table.

Kenpom still has us at 13-5 and Wisky at 15-3. I think we could go 14-4 but can't see us doing any better. Hope I'm wrong.

Seeing the game I used to play and love...I remember ole Fast Eddie
Purdue Grad in Texas...unfortunately I can admit I spent way too many hours in the union shooting pool and the co-rec playing ball. Went back into the union 16 years after graduating and grabbed a rack of balls seeing a black man that was one of the supervisors while in school and asking him if he had an 8 ball rack for the snooker table still since another guy and I used to rotate between the regular table and snooker a lot. He said yes, but not too many play it. I said I used to shoot pool in here a lot...and he said...I remember. More evidence that I didn't spend enough time in the classroom. It was date money while in high school... :)

TJ,

Good stuff. I played at the union a little; most of the time there was bowling.....the rest seemed to be co-rec, intramural sports, and Euchre (which I learned to play at Purdue). I did find time for studies somewhere in there.....oh the days of youth when the budget was overloaded with free time.

Our second house my parents bought growing up had a pool table......one of those large Brunswick tables that came in multiple sections and heavier than all get-out. My older brother has it now stored in his attack for when he finishes his remodel (if ever......going on something like 20 years, lol).....loved 9-ball and cutthroat.....too many games of 8-ball to keep track of.....one of my favorite memories was my mother telling me to ask my grandfather (her father) to play.....then he comes out with his own cue and runs the table like Minnesota Fats....he also started me in golf.....he was the best.

Not so fast, my friend! I wouldn't unfurl that B1G Championship banner at Mackey just yet... just sayin' :)
