Well I guess that promise was kept then.1 minute
Not sure how you keep a promise to join a team midseason during the pandemic. Football team had just had a big outbreak. Wouldnt blame Painter if he told Carr to wait.Well I guess that promise was kept then.
Oh, I agree fully!! I was being a little sarcastic with the promise kept by MSU with the 1 minute of action. Not sure how you keep a promise to join a team midseason during the pandemic. Football team had just had a big outbreak. Wouldnt blame Painter if he told Carr to wait.
Not only that, but do you see a player who projects to be better than Garrett Miller? Let’s pause .. the TE not the OT (oh boy). I don’t …He can spin it how he wishes...he would not have played more than a minute at Purdue either...well, he may have in that he may have taken the minutes that Furst ultimately got in games when the other walk-ons played.
It is frustrating/disappointing from the standpoint that he was talented, but, his comments and decision are evidence that it was unlikely to work at Purdue for him.
He can spin it as he is trying to...I am confident that if there was REALLY a concern on the part of the football staff, that, there would have been some coordination with the basketball staff.
It will be interesting to see how things play out for him in East Lansing...won't be surprised if he finds success on the football field...will be if he does on the basketball court. I think he could/would have done the same at Purdue ultimately, but, his desire to leave trumped that of seeing what would happen.
Different style of TE. Carr would have been an F. Miller and Durham are Ys.Not only that, but do you see a player who projects to be better than Garrett Miller? Let’s pause .. the TE not the OT (oh boy). I don’t …
But you’re still competing for finite touches no?i know

Correct, but, if you played him as a jumbo slot (essentially what an F is) he would have had a mismatch against LBs and nickel corners)But you’re still competing for finite touches no?
True but also.. he seems like the kinda kid who would have seen Miller and Durham getting their next year AND known that Miller was returning and probably not been very content unless he was outpacing themCorrect, but, if you played him as a jumbo slot (essentially what an F is) he would have had a mismatch against LBs and nickel corners)
I think thats what they intended with Biber. Piferi appears to be filling that role some.
awesome. so he didn't play an entire minute. So i thought I was wrong, but actually i was right once more. he didn't play a minute of basketball for MSU.It looks like 30.6 seconds.
His highlight tape starts at 24:22 and he's in until the end. Look for #15.
Here's his stats for the year:

Giving you some props. Happy Friday.awesome. so he didn't play an entire minute. So i thought I was wrong, but actually i was right once more. he didn't play a minute of basketball for MSU.

my fingers are crossed . then I'd have to admit I was wrong. If he doesn't transfer again, he may get enough seconds to get over a minute for his MSU basketball career.
IIRC Carr was adamant about NOT being a tight end when he was recruited.i know

He was. And playing bballIIRC Carr was adamant about NOT being a tight end when he was recruited.
He was gonna play te at Purdue.I found the part of him talking about moving to TE, like it was something he wanted to do. I remember that was another big reason he originally chose Purdue; we were going to let him WR instead of TE which is what he wanted.
True but it sounds like OL is suspect and DL is solidHe was gonna play te at Purdue.
dude was allegedly bot great in the lockerroom or weight room. We are more than fine at wr and te
Use this as a posting template going forward and I’ll read a lot more of your shitI thought the real reason he transferred was not about playing basketball or TE. i thought the real reason he transferred was because he thought his talent was so awesome that he expected to start his Second year at Purdue. and he got beat out by both Wright and Bell during spring practice, and he realized his dreams of starting were gone. So he got mad and left.
You won't find this in any press clipping or press conference, but isn't that the real reason he left? he basically got beat out by another player and he didn't get his expected "star" treatment. he'd rather play on a winning team than trying to make purdue into a winning team. we became better without him.
I thought that a student-athlete could only use the portal once without eligibility loss during their 5 year span. Don't successive transfers require that they sit a year.If Maliq finds himself in the portal again hopefully his handlers find an opportunity like that.
I think that is the case, but there are quite a few players who have hit the portal more than once.I thought that a student-athlete could only use the portal once without eligibility loss during their 5 year span. Don't successive transfers require that they sit a year.
Do they have to sitI think that is the case, but there are quite a few players who have hit the portal more than once.
I thought that it was supposed to be the case, but, I don't know that it actually is...lots of guys that have been in the portal in successive years or more than once, and, none that I am aware of that have had to sit...or are planning to.I thought that a student-athlete could only use the portal once without eligibility loss during their 5 year span. Don't successive transfers require that they sit a year.
Use this as a posting template going forward and I’ll read a lot more I’m not changing my style just to make others happy! It’s obvious . Carr was beaten out and his dream of going to the NFL were fading. So rather than trying harder, he took the easy way out and left. And like so many before him, I doubt we ever hear about him being a success! The grass is always greener elsewhere!
