Malik Ondigo

I spelled his last name wrong and don't know how to edit the title. Malik Ondigo. My apologies.

This video is for a kid that was in AZ at some point. Is this the same guy? Looks like he has some ability.

Interesting, I was just looking up old stats for Mike "Scooby" Scearce yesterday who played from '78 - '82. We need another Scooby.

Ruh-Roh!

So does this mean we are officially over Epperson?
Was thinking the same thing. Pretty much everything I have read about Epperson talks about interest with other schools and never Purdue.

Didn't realize he went to prep school.

If I had to pick between the 2 I would rather have Ondigo based on the few videos of both of them I've seen. He looks more Big Ten ready and if we aren't pulling a post man for immediate use I'd rather save the scholarships for the next year.

Epperson was at Mackey, I believe for the Wisconsin game. Haven't heard much since then.

As much as I like Epperson, he might want to go somewhere he can play soon. If he joins us, next year he would have to compete with Haas, Taylor, and Haarms for the minutes at center, and Vince and Ewing at power forward. Personally I think he has enough potential to start at either position after one year, but I'm not sure he is willing to be so patient.

As for Malik Ondigo, I have a feeling that his offer is contingent on Swanigan going to NBA. I don't see why he wouldn't, but it isn't really official until he actually declares for the draft. So I don't think we will hear any new recruiting development until then. Ondigo might not even accept the offer as he would be buried far too deep in the roster to see minutes any time soon.

Good players don't get scared off by competition. Taylor's situation isn't going to keep anyone from signing and Haarms hasn't proven anything yet. Maybe if he was a McD's AA he might make someone think long and hard.

Agree. I was thinking the same thing. Offering a '17 big this late in the game could suggest the the coaches aren't confident Taylor can get healthy and Haarms may not be ready next year based on what they have seen so far in practice.

They might not get scared by it, but it definitely won't help. The good ones especially will have a lot of other options. If two teams have similar track records, a recruit would be inclined to choose the one with less competitions. The top recruits have many other offers with such a benefit, and I believe Epperson is one such a player. If he liked us enough, he would have already chosen us. He has dragged his feet, and now there are more competitions for minutes.
