As if watching the team doesn't give me high blood pressure, the postgame comments might make me more mad.

“Our punting toward the end of the game wasn’t as good as we need it to be. We had a couple mental mistakes. We had to use a timeout because we were in the wrong formation. Those are the things that when we get those things flipped, those are the things that are going to flip the program. We have to do better. We all have to do better to make sure those things do get flipped.”

YOU ARE IN YEAR THREE! THREE!! THREE!!! Wrong formation? Mental mistakes? That is year one stuff! You need talent and a creative offense to flip.

He has never stepped up and taken responsibility. The stupid penalties and 4 straight 3 and outs and the confusion on the field are all coaching issues. We need to do better -- are you kidding me? The season is over. Just when are we planning to do better? And the frosting on the cake is to throw the punter under the bus that's been one of the few bright spots this season. The guy has no class.

Perhaps this is the new rock bottom: blaming the punter (the freaking punter!) for the lack of coaching execution down the stretch. Pathetic.

I would suggest Schopper boot one straight into Coach Hat's 'film vault' this week during practice...

Just unreal

See my man?? Do you see?? Neither of these two jamokes think its an issue that they go in the hole offensively late in games

See Darrell, when you kick a ball directly into a strong wind, it doesn't go as far as it did before, when you were kicking with the wind at your back. The solution to that would be to actually make some first downs so you aren't punting as much.

Man this guy is dumb.

If you're going to blame your true freshman punter, who by the way has been one of your best players this grease fire of a season, then you're not only a shitty coach, you're a coward.

P. S. Who made the call to send our senior 3/10 kicker out there? Any mention of him in the fault department? Or one-half-Shoop?

Speaking of punting, are we leading the country in number of punts fielded within the goal line and our own 5 yard line?

Dumb enough to get direct deposit on his $2M a year so he doesn't have to worry about filling out a slip of paper.

Well, your punter was lousy in the 4th quarter. That was a boost for NU, cutting the yardage needed for a score.

Didn't Schopper kick one from about the end zone past the 50 yard line late in the game (into the wind) after Purdue went 3 and out, which at least gave the defense a chance to stop NW from scoring.

Also, Hazell is allowed to blame the players because Burke also makes excuses that we have young players. No accountability.

Yes.

Asking your punter to do that constantly in the 4th quarter, into the wind....you aren't going to win. Out of all the issues this team has, the punter certainly is low on the list and to call him out like that?

Obviously it was not his best game but to dump on him when your offense and playcaller couldn't do ANYTHING off of 3 turnovers and goes 3 and out 4 straight times? Focus on that. If you're going to push people under the bus....at least do it to those who aren't helping or trying to help the program.

Maybe the Punter is not great in practice, when clearly that is where progress is seen. Duh.

Perhaps he was worn out from all the three and outs.
Blaming the punter. A new low.
The kids a pure freshman and has been one of the few bright spots on the team.
