Lyndsey Whilby, a former wing at Texas Tech, is transferring to Purdue, per a source.

A former top-30-type recruit in the 2016 class, Whilby averaged 7.2 points per game as a freshman at Tech last season, hitting a team-high 39 three-pointers. Texas Tech has a new coach as of last month, hiring Marlene Stollings away from Minnesota.

Likely, the 5-foot-11 Whilby, a native of Hiram, Ga., will have to sit a season, but with the coaching change, it's possible she's seeking a hardship waiver.

Haven't heard, but I would think with Jenelle Grant, that would be it for transfers.

But I suppose Purdue would know more about Cooper's status than me.

If these kids can play at the BIG level, and there is no reason to think otherwise, then we are substantially beefing up our line up. Hopefully we will not be as thin as we were last year.

We are down to 11 now and 10 if Cooper is gone. Also maybe 11 if Whilby gets a waiver. But All the frosh, Diagne, and, to a degree, Boudreau are unproven.
Maybe Cooper will return. Maybe there is another transfer. Maybe Whilby will get the waiver. Maybe there will be no more transfers and no key injuries. Maybe one of the frosh will shine with Hardin being highly rated. Team name: Purdue Maybes.

by the way she wasn't an overall top 30 recruit,she was listed as one of the top 30 guards in the country as a HS recruit by Hoopgurz... she has been cleared as eligible for 2018-19... for depth she had to be.. will be a starter at the SF or Wing position imho... She'll be short at 5'11 for a wing, but that is par for the course now for SRV recruited players... no one over 6'1 in the starting 5.
