Crean adds Juco front liner. Is that the correct schollies count now. If Williams stays, wonder who gets creaned.

2 possibilities. Williams has entered the draft, so I think he has to officially withdraw from the draft to come back, which of course he can do because he hasn't hired an agent. If he does, The kid from Crown Point (Gelon?) probably really needs to double or triple check his grades on every test score just to make sure a random D doesn't appear out of no where.

It's about time for Prilla da' Thrilla to head out of Bloomington. I'm guessing it will be the standard, "He's seeking more playing time". And does it really matter what Crean adds to the roster? Two Tone is still the coach.

Guess you saw how it mattered this year, with a victory over PU, Kentucky, and a sweet sixteen berth with an injury riddled team. ( PS Everyone has know Troy was leaving, so you can unbunch your panties).

I would guess either Troy Williams is staying in the draft or good-bye Tim Priller!

I think that you are right, and that will be the case. Weathorford and Stephens stated the same thing when they left. There are too many transfers in college bball today. I prefer that TW stay, as IU is a better team with him. Priller and Weathorford will never help their teams. Stephens would have.

There's actually a small possibility IU could end up with an extra scholarship. I don't see any way Troy comes back if he is in fact finishing his degree this summer. Even if he doesn't get drafted, he'll have his degree and can get paid to play somewhere. Why come back?

Some people have been saying Gelon has been visiting some smaller schools and there has been some talk about prep school. To my knowledge, IU isn't in the running for any other recruits. IU recruited Alkins but he's unlikely at this point. If Gelon backs out and Troy leaves, IU will have an opening.

First, a Crean coached team once again lost in the Sweet 16. Injuries really had nothing to do with it....they simply got beat because of a lack of coaching. IU had the talent on hand to win that game. Using injury is a feeble excuse and they were much better without JB on the floor. As for Troy, he should have been dismissed long before now.

Jimmy, I agree about the transfers. I disagree that IU is better with Troy because Crean allows him to play totally out of control with no retribution. As for Stephens, the key word that you missed is "Could" have helped his team. As with Troy, it appears it's all about Stephens too.

Come on man. I don't like Crean so I'd love to blame that loss on him. But that wasn't a coaching loss. IU was down to 2 guards, Yogi and Zeisloft; the latter of which is just about as bad on defense as Blackmon and offers much less on offense. Johnson was out (our best defender). Hartman had to have surgery on his wrist about a week after the game (shooting hand). Morgan had to have his shoulder reset during the game and couldn't raise his left arm. He's scheduled for surgery. We ended up having to play 2 walkons in that game. And North Carolina was shooting the lights out. I don't think any team in the country would've beat them that night.

I agree with Big Red here. I was rooting for IU to pull the upset, but there were just too many injuries making IU too thin at the guard position. IIRC Robert Johnson was hurt as well. Maybe if IU had been at full strenght, they migh have taken UNC, but not as beat up as they were.

Now this does bring out a question I have since the season started. We have all watched Crean with his weird substitutions and odd game plans. Suddenly, this year, those quirks disappeared for the most part. I just have to beleive that one of his assistants is doing a terrific job behind the scenes.

It was like they killed off the real Tom Crean and put a robot in his place. I swear I saw one of the assistants with a remote...

You may be right about Troy. I see all that physical talent and HOPE that it is harnessed in the right way. I thought TW killed IU the first half of the UNC game, and then was fantastic in the second half. IU cannot win with TW playing that way (IU was not going to win that game regardless).

I watched KStephens flat light it up some games his soph year, and really felt that he was a player to be concerned about, especially with AJH, Haas and Swanigan demanding the defenses attention. For some reason(s), that never happened and PU was hurt by KS' lack of productivity.

Let's see if OG and company can exceed what TW would have brought. Let's see if DM and RC continue to progress, which is probably what KS aniticipated would happen. I can't wait for next year!

Crean shocked me this year for the exact reasons you mentioned. In past seasons I gave him a pass thinking that he was fairly young and could figure those things out over time. The past couple seasons I had given up hope that it would happen. This year, though, was a complete 180. All I can think is that his hand was forced with his job being on the line. I don't think IU added any new assistants so I have a hard time believing he started listening to them all of a sudden.

Red, I don't believe Crean suddenly morphed into a coach making good decisions. Someone on the bench is in his ear.

I thought the players on IU's team played their roles really well after the first part of the season. Seemed like a totally different team. I never was impressed with Blackmon. IU definitely didn't miss him at all. Wondering how IU does without Yogi this coming season.

he also shouldn't take summer classes at IU. He might mysteriously get a 90+ in all his exams and end up with an F grade.
