Looks like MSU did us a favor

Brace yourselves, folks, I'm about to say something heretical:
I was actually quite impressed with Nebraska today. I thought MSU came into this game as one of the top 3 teams in the league. But, Nebraska got after them the whole game.

Nebraska might be close to turning the corner. We'll see.

We (the coaches) just have to worry about our offense. If we played Nebraska today I don’t know if we’d get 14 points. If Oconnell can get in there and start getting guys involved and getting guys like Wright confidence with his pillow passes (he throws an easy to catch ball).. we can be a threat to score 28+ against both teams. And that will get us two wins.. here are your easiest wins left based on how we match up:

Northwestern
Minnesota
Nebraska
Michigan state
Wisconsin
Iowa

if we can get our shit together at QB, if the OL can just progress as much as the 2019 OL did throughout the season, and we start getting guys back without anymore big injuries, we might get 4-5 of those

If none of that happens we might get 1-2

Too little too late. Frost will be fired at end of season or in mid-November. The off field covid antics against B1G policy last year is a black eye to the University. I have no idea where they are in terms of his contract, but their Administration will want him out.

The ideal situation is frost does something that allows him to keep the mediocrity going for one more year

Agree. Biggest fear is that Matt Campbell takes the Nebraska job trying to get out of that mess of a conference he is currently in. That could be ugly for us.
I just don't see that happening. Nebraska is a shell of a program. LSU is going to open up. USC is open. Penn St might be open if Franklin takes the USC job. Campbell is not going to a has been program that isn't a recruiting mecca anymore.

Back-to-back nice showings by Nebraska...no way Illinois beats them if that game were played today opposed to when it was. They were so bad in that game that I admittedly just assumed that they were destined for yet another brutal year, but, not now...they may somehow find themselves in the thick of things in the West (just in that it is not very good).

I'm assuming in this list you are assuming OSU as an automatic loss and IU as an automatic win then? :)

Franklin isn't going anywhere, east coast guy and a great recruiting class coming in.
