The Sweet 16 game against Tennessee popped up as a recommendation on YouTube. It’s the full game so you get to see how Purdue played with guard play without a lot of post ups. It was a good watch, especially remembering how it ended.

I really felt Purdue was the dominant team for the first 28 minutes, from Haarms protecting the rim, Eastern defense/layups, Edwards speed and shooting, and Cline shooting. Then had a rough 6 minute stretch before a back and forth finish.

Aaron Wheeler and Trevion Williams were difference makers (until foul trouble) in that game as well.

What also struck me about that game is how many didn’t stay at Purdue for their full eligibility: Haarms, Eastern, Wheeler, Hunter, Dowuona all transferred. Edwards (draft).

Not looking at wins and losses, just observations, comparing that Purdue team to this year’s Purdue team, any thoughts?

Also stumbled across this. Amazing that Purdue is part of 4 of these.
