Anyway, in the absence of a certain former poster who used to post these kinds of stories, I thought I would pick up the slack and mention such things as the slow death of western civilization and we have to be afraid and yada yada yada......

It appears that London has elected a new mayor who just happens to be a Muslim. From reading the linked story there appears to be some remorse about how his challenger ran his campaign using "dog whistle" tactics, and these complaints are coming from the challenger's own party members. I just found this interesting and wondered if history might repeat itself in our upcoming election. I guess time will tell.
