looks like we play w/o any on the field, as soon as they get around the end there is no one around the middleLinebackers are definitely not in the game tonight! Better recruit them with the DB’s
On the bright side, I'd say they're just 22 players away from fielding a respectable 2 deep on defense. Then just need some coaching.Linebackers are definitely not in the game tonight! Better recruit them with the DB’s
Bingo. New scheme, worse results! We heard so much about Walters great defense. Maybe he doesn’t have his guys yet, but this defense is doing exactly what all of our other defenses have done over the last few years, get absolutely destroyed by a running QB, RB runs free, their OL controls the line, no pressure on the QB, etc.
Don't disagree with the adjustments after halftime, both offensively and defensively. The D was atrocious in the first half and were ran all over.
However, in the second half, I noticed that more blitzes were dialed up and Wisconsin struggled for quite a while. Purdue held them to very little offensive output for a quite a while, plus the running game was churning along as well.
I know that everyone is crapping all over this coaching staff, but I was very pleased with the second half adjustments and that this team still showed some fight instead of laying down as they easily could have. If anything, it showed me that this coaching staff actually has a pulse and seems to be improving.
I think the idea is nothing gets past him for a big gainer. Problem is you only need 10 yards for a 1st down, so the opponent picks up 1st downs at will. Why does Theineman play so deep? He’s 30 yards in back of the snap, is this normal? I swear it’s like a hockey power play watching it, 11 on 10 football.
the more things change, the more they stay the same.Bingo. New scheme, worse results!
wait till we play a tram like Minn who loves to throw slants and have a big pass catching TEI think the idea is nothing gets past him for a big gainer. Problem is you only need 10 yards for a 1st down, so the opponent picks up 1st downs at will.
But other than all that, they’re fine.We heard so much about Walters great defense. Maybe he doesn’t have his guys yet, but this defense is doing exactly what all of our other defenses have done over the last few years, get absolutely destroyed by a running QB, RB runs free, their OL controls the line, no pressure on the QB, etc.
As Tom Moore always said, “Players. Not plays.”Bingo. New scheme, worse results!
They definitely showed heart last night. A Haze team would have folded the tents and lost 48-7.The D was atrocious in the first half and were ran all over.

Why not rush all 5 most of time, contain the QB and put pressure on him, better than 260 lb linebacker’s trying to cover someone alot faster than them when the QB has all day to throwDon't disagree with the adjustments after halftime, both offensively and defensively.
The issue is why aren't we better prepared out of the gate?
On a side note, the uptempo offense is probably something we should stick with throughout the game to try and keep the opposing defense on its heels a bit and try and generate more points for our offense.
