Seriously…what is wrong with liberals and Democrats? Why do they think the solution to every problem is to just give people money and hope the problem magically goes away? When I say liberalism is a disease, I’m not kidding.

Do people have no pride, no morals, no work ethic?

Universal Basic Income (UBI) is the lefts next great entitlement. Money for zero work.

Chicago and Illinois get their budgets and deficits bailed out by Biden and the first thing they do is start giving away more money to the constituents

What do you think the solution will be when we automate jobs away faster than we create new jobs?

Nothing to see here!

This program, like all lib programs is likely just another terrible idea.

First, how do they select the 5000 households? Is race involved? Is income involved? Is political party involved? Geez, the problems.

Second, Is there a Work requirement? Do the adults of these "selected households" have to work? I seriously doubt it as lib programs want the opposite. ...Govt dependency.

Third, Is the program a pathway out of poverty? Doubtfull, as Dem philosophy is always to keep people in poverty as dutifully bound sheep voter slaves.

I asked about when automation removes more jobs than it creates
Yes I know, and I answered that. Over regulation is a large reason why we have massive corporations and the little guy is going out of business. Too bad the little guy tends to employ most of the country. Dems aren't the only ones that regulate, but they do so at an alarming rate. Need more Libertarians in office. Lessen regulation and bring back more small business.

Little guy can’t compete with the wages of the big guys. If they could they could have workers. I’m not saying ubi is or is not appropriate right now. I’m talking about the future. Not to far fetched to see millions of truck drivers out of work in the not to long term future. Also with advances in Ai, might many of us white collar workers be out of work too?

Define compete. I don't think it's as far off as you think it is. Especially if we stop making them spend so much money to comply with silly regulations.

Adapt to the new skills requirements. Someone has to build, market, sell and maintain those machines.
Innovation to drive efficiency in labor has and always will occur. It will eliminate some jobs while creating new ones.

Anytime Democrats do any one of their stupid money give always, there’s always political leverage. It will likely only go to minorities, liberal, democrat voters.

If it takes as many people to build and sell and maintain the machines as they replace then why would businesses install the machines?

You ok with helping people adapt and transition to the new conditions?

You think we will never get to a point where automation outpaces job creation?

It's not wages that are the issue. Some businesses are going out of business because they cannot comply with all the regulation. It costs them too much.

Which regulations would you like to eliminate? Also, if wages aren’t the issue why not raise them and get more workers? Why can larger companies manage to comply?

I don't think you understand how capital and operational budgets work.

In addition, machines don't require benefits, vacation, raises, strikes, etc.

Maybe farmers should get rid of them combines and go back to using a horse and plow?

So one incident is justification for screwing everyone else. There will always be people out there that will cut corners when they can. Screwing everyone else with crippling regulation isn't the answer.
oh boo hoo I can't underpay unqualified workers and use dangerously cheap materials to cut all the corners in my business waaaahhhh

Like I said, there are people that will cut corners. MOST won't. Otherwise we'd see buildings falling down all the time. Way to act like a child and ignore making a real counter when I made a point.

Mayor Beetle Juice thinks like all "smart" progressive/socialists. She believes if we write a check of $30,000-$40,000 to everyone we will stamp out poverty!
