I would expect UCLA to win that game tonight. If we win tomorrow it may come down to conference tourney wins and their conference is weak so we would probably need to get to the BT final.WV beating Kansas State also helps our NET ranking...good weekend so far!
Hopefully EastPurdue and UCLA could be in same bracket as “lowest” 1 seed and highest #2 seed in East or West region…
UCLA is going West no matter what IMO. If they're a 1, either Houston or Kansas (whichever is worse) will go to NYC. If they're a 2, it's easy in the West.Purdue and UCLA could be in same bracket as “lowest” 1 seed and highest #2 seed in East or West region…
Purdue will absolutely go to Louisville if a 2-seed.If UCLA wins impressively tonight, they could move to the # 1 seed in the West. If so, would Houston go to the East? If so, I could see Purdue going East as their # 2. Probably get UConn as the # 3.
Sure enough, Joey Brackets has them as the # 2 seed in the South overnight. Alabama is and isn’t still his # 1 overall seed is also in the South. Seems strange that the 1 ( or 2) and maybe 5 ranked teams are in the same regional, but who knows.Purdue will absolutely go to Louisville if a 2-seed.
I think that a Purdue win coupled with a Houston loss today should be enough to get Purdue back to a number #1 seed, for the moment, considering Houston’s strength of schedule. Of course, things will probably change again in the conference tournaments. If Purdue can win today and win the BTT, it certainly should be enough for a #1 seed, but I think that a sixth loss more likely than not keeps them at a #2.
If they get the highest #2, my guess is that they get rewarded with Louisville, as there isn’t much separation between the top 5 teams.
It does, but it can and has happened. FWIW, I don't think Alabama is the #1 overall anymore. The committee looks to balance the 1-4 seeds in each region. Add up the S-curve numbers in each. If 1 and 5 overall go to one region, expect 12 and 15 to go there too. All while balancing to avoid conference matchups too.Sure enough, Joey Brackets has them as the # 2 seed in the South overnight. Another thing that might not mean anything but will be interesting is which other team will be a pod leader in Columbus with us. Marquette probably goes to Des Moines with Kansas so in Columbus it could be Xavier or Indiana.Yes - it will be interesting where TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Kansas State, Marquette, and Arkansas end up. I could see Indiana as the 4/5 in the Midwest right now.
